Cincinnati Comic Expo 2018 Announces Peter Mayhew, Charles Martinet & More

Cincinnati Comic Expo has announced several new additions to their 2018 guest list including Peter Mayhew, Charles Martinet, Stephane Roux, John Beatty, Joe Benitez, K Lynn Smith, Joe Corroney, Josh Blaylock and more for their convention on September 14-16th!

Peter Mayhew, who played the iconic Chewbacca, is returning to the Queen City for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Peter Mayhew has donned the Wookie role over the span of five decades covering five Star Wars films, numerous specials, cameo appearances, games, and projects. Most recently for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Mayhew had the job title of Chewbacca Consultant. Outside of Star Wars, Peter’s credits include portraying The Tall Knight in Dark Towers, the voice of Susha in Dragon Ball GT: A Hero’s Legacy, Uncle Clyde in Killer Ink, and more!

 

“Ohhh. Momma Mia!” Actor Charles Martinet will be attending the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Since 1990, Charles has been the voice of Mario in the Nintendo video game franchise, plus the voices of Luigi, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Toadsworth, and others. In addition to the Mario games, Charles has voiced many other games including Super Punch Out!!, Skies of Arcadia, Shadow of Destiny, and dozens more. Charles has appeared on camera with roles in numerous films and television shows.

 

Artist Stephane Roux is making his first visit to the area for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Stephane is a freelance artist with publications with DC, Marvel, and France’s Semic Comics. His artwork has appeared on covers or the interior of numerous and notable comics including Witchblade: Blood Oath, Birds of Prey, Star Wars: Agents of the Empire, Countdown to Final Crisis, Savage She-Hulk, and so much more

 

Artist Gavin Smith is returning to be a guest for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Gavin is the creator and publisher of the Human City comic book series. Gavin has also completed work in The Accelerators, and All Superheroes Must Die. His credits also include artwork for AT&T, INTERSIL, and many others. Artist and creator K Lynn Smith will be in the Duke Energy Convention Center for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! K Lynn is the creator and artist for the webcomic series Plume. She has also done work and projects on Garfield, Cards Against Humanity, and the video game Tuebor. Currently, she is planning her next project which is the Afterglow graphic novel. Cincinnati native Josh Blaylock is returning home for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Founder of Devil’s Due Comics, Josh is an artist, writer, and publisher for numerous titles. Artist Joe Corroney is returning for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Joe’s work is most recognized in his Star Wars and Star Trek illustrations for comics, posters, trading cards, and more. His other projects and titles include X-Files, True Blood, and GI Joe for IDW, as well as Doctor Who, Farscape, The Phantom, and Crimson Dynamo for other publishers and numerous more publications. Artist John Beatty will be attending the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Working along with Cincinnati Comic Expo guest Mike Zeck, John did ink and cover art for Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars. He has also had numerous projects with Marvel and DC over the years including Captain America, The Punisher, The Nam, The Adventures of Superman, Batman, G.I. Joe, and more! Comic artist and creator Joe Benitez is returning to the Queen City for the 2018 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Joe is widely recognized as the creator of Wraithborn, Lady Mechanika, and the co-creator on Weapon Zero. His artwork has appeared in numerous publications, such as Titans and Superman/Batman with DC, Magdalena and The Darkness with Image Comics, and Aspen Comics’ Soulfire.
