MO – A Celebration of Roy Thomas

Press Release:

Jackson hometown celebrity, Roy Thomas will be returning for a celebration, Saturday February 23, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.

Thomas is the former Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, and co-creator of some of comics’ greatest heroes, including Wolverine. He was raised in Jackson, attended St. Paul Lutheran School, Jackson High School, and Southeast Missouri State University.

This is the 4th annual mid-winter celebration of arts and culture featuring the historic landscape of Uptown Jackson. Historic Uptown Jackson will be decked out for the celebration with comicbook characters, promotional activities in the uptown shops, and a special exhibition at the Cape Girardeau County History Center. (Note: Roy Thomas requests that we make “comicbook” one word per a historic proclamation in honor of Stan Lee.)

There is a free public presentation by Roy Thomas being held prior to the main February Annual event. There are a limited number of seats, but you can get tickets for up to four people by going to the link…
