The Coolidge is thrilled to announce Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore as the next recipient of the Coolidge Award. She will appear on Thursday, April 25, 2019 for a screening of Gloria Bell and the award ceremony.

On Thursday evening Moore will participate in an onstage conversation, followed by the presentation of the Coolidge Award in the theater’s authentically restored Art Deco Moviehouse. That same day the Coolidge will also host an afternoon screening of the recently released and critically acclaimed Gloria Bell. Following the screening, Moore will participate in an audience Q&A. From the Chilean writer-director Sebastian Lelio, Gloria Bell features a vibrant performance from Moore opposite co-star John Turturro, and set to a spirited soundtrack of hit songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Julianne Moore began her film career in the early ‘90s and quickly emerged as an independent film darling, boasting both perfectly nuanced and dynamic tour-de-force performances. She collaborated with such directors as Robert Altman (Short Cuts), Louis Malle (Vanya on 42nd Street), Todd Haynes (Safe, Far From Heaven, I’m Not There), Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), Joel and Ethan Cohen (The Big Lebowski), Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right), Tom Kalin (Savage Grace), and Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men).
