Star Trek: The Next Generation stars Gates McFadden and Michael Dorn are the first guests announced for Comicpalooza in Houston, TX on May 10-12, 2019!
Gates McFadden is an actress, choreographer, director and teacher. Gates portrayed Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation for six years and in four films. She’s also appeared in movies such as Taking Care of Business, The Hunt for Red October, and The Muppets Take Manhattan. Her television credits include a lead role in UPN’s Marker, a recurring role on CBS’ Mad About You, as well as guest starring Dream On, Franklin and Bash, and NCIS. Gates also worked for Jim Henson and was Director of Choreography and Puppet Movement for the films Labryinth and Dreamchild.
Michael Dorn was born in Luling, Texas in 1952, and grew up in Pasadena, CA. He went to school at Pasadena City College where he studied radio and television production. One of his first acting jobs was on the TV series “CHiPS,” where Michael played the role of “Officer Jebediah Turner” for 4 seasons. Michael first appeared on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” as “Worf,” a Klingon serving aboard a Federation Starship for seven seasons. Michael later went on to reprised his role as “Worf” on “Star Trek: Deep Space 9.” He was also one of few actors that appear with the original Star Trek cast in “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country,” and “Star Trek Generations.” Michael has appeared more times as a regular cast member than any other “Star Trek” actor, spanning 5 films and 272 television episodes. After “Star Trek,” Michael went on to appear in the “Santa Clause” trilogy as the “Sandman,” and television series such as “Castle.” Michael has used his incredible voice in many animated series including, “Gargoyles,” “Cow and Chicken,” and “I Am Weasel” along with numerous “Star Trek” video games, “Fallout 2,” “World of Warcraft” and “Master of Orion” just to name a few. Michael has been an aviation enthusiast and pilot for many years, flying vintage military aircraft, and owning a North American Sabreliner and F-86 Sabre Jet.
