JOE QUESADA ADDED TO NY PLANET HULK EVENT MODERATED BY WWE’s MATT STRIKER; G4′s BLAIR BUTLER TO MODERATE L.A. EVENT
Earlier Tuesday Newsarama and New York Comic-Con invited websites from around the world to share in the world premiere of the first extended clip from the upcoming Planet Hulk animated feature along with exclusive live coverage of the bi-coastal Planet Hulk events on Thursday evening Jan. 14. Now we have further details on the talent and creators featured at each event, co-sponsored by Newsarama and New York Comic Con.
Following the East Coast exclusive first screening of Lionsgate and Marvel Animation’s Planet Hulk, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada will join Greg Pak – the award-winning film director, screenwriter, and fan favorite comic book writer of the original “Planet Hulk” story, along with Marvel Publishing’s Hulk editor Mark Paniccia and President of Marvel Animation’s Eric Rollman in an interactive panel discussion about the original “Planet Hulk” comic book storyline, its transition to an animated feature, as well as the current Hulk comic book storyline “Fall of the Hulks” and this summer’s Hulk event “World War Hulks”.
The panel will be moderated by WWE wrestler and Friday Night Smackdown color commentator Matt Striker.
Later Thursday evening, following the West Coast exclusive first screening of Planet Hulk, Emmy Award-nominated and Eisner Award-winning writer Jeph Loeb (current writer of Marvel’s Hulk series), Planet Hulk screenwriter Greg Johnson, actor Rick D. Wasserman (voice of the “Hulk”), Planet Hulk Supervising Director Frank Paur and Supervising Producer Josh Fine will participate in an interactive discussion focusing on the production of the highly-anticipated animated film, scheduled for DVD and Blu-Ray Disc release on February 2, 2010.
The panel will be moderated by Blair Butler, host of the “Fresh Ink” comic book segment on G4′s Attack of the Show and writer/producer of the show’s “Slasher School” series of animated shorts.

The event will feature an exclusive first screening of the upcoming animated film of the same name from Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Marvel Animated Features as well as an opportunity to meet the talent behind both the popular comic book and the animated film during an evening that will also include limited-edition giveaways and creator signings.
Planet Hulk is the highly anticipated animated feature scheduled for DVD and Blu-Ray Disc release on February 2, 2010 that follows the Incredible Hulk as he’s sent into exile on a strange alien world after being banished from Earth. But will he be the champion of this new planet? Or the destroyer of it?
Marvel Animation panelists include the forces behind the story and production plus the green-guy himself. On the West Coast, Supervising Director Frank Paur, Supervising Producer Josh Fine, and the writer of the screenplay Greg Johnson will be on hand to discuss bringing one of Marvel’s most legendary tales to film. Rick D. Wasserman, the voice of the “Hulk,” will be sharing his experience in bringing this iconic character to life. In New York, the panel will include President of Marvel Animation Eric Rollman who is responsible for all animated television and film properties including: , The Invincible Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Hulk Vs. and Wolverine and the X-Men.
Two of the architects behind the red-hot Fall of The Hulks Marvel Comics event, Jeph Loeb and Greg Pak, will attend the screenings to interact with fans and talk about major upcoming changes to the Hulk Family! For fans in LA, meet the Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated Jeph Loeb as he reveals what’s in plan for the popular Red Hulk and talks about the shocking twists ahead for Hulk. MARVEL PORTFOLIO REVIEW:
Marvel Entertainment, Inc., one of the world’s most prominent character-based entertainment companies with a library of over 5,000 proprietary characters, will be reviewing portfolios of artists, inkers, and colorists for potential future work at the House of Ideas. All creators interested in having their portfolio reviewed should bring copies of their artwork (no originals) to Long Beach Comic Con Meeting Room D by 6 pm on Friday, 10/2.
After reviewing all samples at the end of the day, we will display a list of creators in Meeting Room D Saturday morning, October 3rd that includes the names and corresponding times of those people we are interested in meeting with, along with a schedule of times to meet.
Pencilers should be prepared to drop off at least 5 pages of sequential art as well as examples of cover illustrations. Inkers’ portfolio samples should contain examples of their work over at least three different pencilers. Colorists should provide samples that effectively display their different techniques and coloring abilities on various types of pieces. Samples will not be returned.
Depending upon your area of expertise, you should be prepared to leave behind the following at Meeting Room D for pre-screening review:
Pencilers: At least 5 pages of sequential art as well as examples of cover illustrations
Inkers: Samples of your work over at least three different pencilers
Colorists: Samples that effectively display your different techniques and coloring abilities on various types of pieces

Special guests include television and comic icon Jeph Loeb along with DC Comics legend Geoff Johns. LBCC invites fans to come out and get a chance to meet the industry’s best and brightest.

ICv2 to Host Comics and Media Conference in Association with San Diego Comic-Con International
Jeph Loeb to Deliver Keynote, Mike Mignola in “Comics after Hollywood”
SAN DIEGO- June 15, 2009. Pop culture publishing and consulting company ICv2 has announced that it will host the ICv2 Comics and Media Conference: Building Connections on Wednesday, July 22nd, in conjunction with San Diego Comic-Con International.
“Comics are increasingly the raw material for films, TV shows, and videogames and vice versa, and San Diego is where that all comes together,” ICv2 President Milton Griepp said. “We wanted to create a conference where writers and artists; publishers; producers of films, TV shows, and videogames; agents and managers; licensing pros; retailers; and librarians and educators can all come together to talk about what’s happening and about how to expand this incredibly productive cross-fertilization.”
The ICv2 Comics and Media Conference, a ticketed half-day event, will be held at the San Diego Marriott, next to the San Diego Convention Center, on Wednesday afternoon, July 22nd, from 1 to 5 p.m., just before Preview Night at Comic-Con. Comic-Con is assisting with promotion and logistics for the event.
Confirmed speakers and panelists include film, TV, and comics writer Jeph Loeb, who will deliver the keynote address for the event; Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, who will participate in the discussion of Comics after Hollywood; and businesspeople from the worlds of comics, film, TV, and videogames, with more speakers still being added.
