Please plan on joining us for our 2nd Annual Young Artists Comics Fest on March 21 at the Ashland Public Library! You all know what a comic book fest is but this one is special in that it will feature Young Artists – kids 8-18 who are making their own comics and, now, will have the opportunity to sell them.

Young Comic Artists can apply to table using THIS FORM until March 17th.

Registration is requested so we can plan the best day ever for the kids. Please use THIS LINK to register (and, you’ll receive reminders, which great, right?). Stay tuned for the full schedule, coming soon.

In true comic book tradition, we’ll have comics workshops, headliners, and book sales and signings.

We are thrilled to welcome headliners Lincoln Peirce (author of the Big Nate series) and Kayla Miller (author of ClickCampAct and the popular Besties series). Lincoln and Kayla will both be leading workshops for the kids!

We’re also so pleased to welcome workshop leaders and exhibitors Jerel Dye (Science Comics and Einstein), Caroline Hu (Who Discovered How to Breathe Underwater? Jacques Cousteau), Shaina Lu (Noodle & Bao), Vero Stewart (Bizarre Birds), Stephanie Williams (Marvel, DC, Nubia: Queen of the Amazons), Shelli Paroline & Braden Lamb (Adventure Time and Katie the Catsitter), Dave London & Pete Chianca (Pet Peeves and Strip Search Podcast). In addition, cartoonist Bob Flynn (Spongebob) will be doing a special workshop in memory of comic Dan Moynihan – we’ll be drawing dinosaurs!!

We are excited to have CalmerCon at our event to support kids who might need a break from the festivities. And, for those who need a nice place to “unpeople” kids can spend some time in the Quiet Drawing Area where there will just be paper and pencils.

Since this event is in the “Winter” (you know, New England, we could have a snowstorm or a heat wave, we’re excited that Trolley Dogs Food Truck will be in our parking lot offering yummy foods for all ages – but we’ll have spaces inside for you to come in and eat. And there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance if you’d like to explore a bit.

We are thrilled that our Fest is sponsored by the Boston Kids Comics Fest, which is under the umbrella of the Boston Comics Arts Foundation (BCAF). Registration and donations will go through a BCAF portal.

Logo design by winner of our logo contest, Ashland student, Riya Dubey!
