As part of this year’s One City, One Book program, Malden Reads is hosting a Conversation on Race using the 2018 book selection, “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas, and incorporating insights from the Boston Globe Spotlight Series on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
Join us for a discussion on race with special guests Kerri Greenidge, Brendan Kiely, Keith Knight, Neil Swidey.
Brendan Kiely is the author of our companion book “All-American Boys” (co-authored by Jason Reynolds), a Coretta Scott King award winner.
Keith Knight is a Malden native and well-known cartoonist and musician whose work often deals with political, social and racial issues.
Neil Swidey is a Boston Globe writer and author of The Assist: Hoops, Hopes and the Game of their Lives, and co-author of Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy.
The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Kerri Greenidge, an historian, researcher, lecturer, and Co-Director of the African American Freedom Trail Project.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
