Woodbridge Comic Book Festival (May 2014)

1. Unfortunately this was a bust. No comic vendors at all. I think there were 3 total vendors in the place…very disappointing.

2. Seriously. Reading their website I thought I missed something and there must have been more to the park. Nothing and no one was there.

3. I spoke to the company to ask what happened to the comic book dealers. They told me because of the projected rain, they all bailed out. I don’t blame them, who wants to risk losing their collection to bad weather. They did have some awesome entertainment. I think they should not have done it outdoors.

4. Having it outside was fine…but what I do not understand is – they had set a rain date for Sunday, but instead of using that when they found out the main part of the attraction was not showing up, they just stayed with Saturday.

5. Just based on this page, the following never happened:

   Surprise celebrity guests
   CosPlay Costume Contest, cash reward and gifts
   Lots of comic book dealers and exhibitors plus more……………
   Comic books
   Filmmakers
   Artists
   See our popular Artist Alley
   Armored combat league events
   Live stunt shows with special effects
   Web crawler acrobatic show
   The Avenging Four Stunt Show
   Come see Batman and the Batmobile

6. While this event definitely was not everything that it was hoped to be, the following things were there:

   Costume contest with prizes
   Marvel Comics writer, artist, and editor Larry Hama (G.I. Joe, Bucky O’Hare)
   Superhero stage show
   Lightsaber stage show
   Two live rock & roll bands
   Several local exhibitors and food vendors
