Press Release:
Southern Maryland Comic-Con Announces DiMaggio and Cummings
November 5, 2013, WALDORF, MD
The Southern Maryland Comic-Con is proud to announce two very special guests. John DiMaggio and Jim Cummings will both be in attendance on Saturday, November 9, at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, Maryland. These late additions were announced after Olivia Olson regrettably had to cancel her appearance due to acting commitments.
“We didn’t want our attendees to be disappointed, so we went after two of the most legendary voice actors of all time, and they were both able to make it to the show on short notice,” said Debbie Lee, Event Coordinator.
John DiMaggio is an actor, best known for voicing Bender on Futurama and Jake the Dog on Adventure Time. DiMaggio has also appeared in numerous TV shows, films, and video games. Jim Cummings is also a voice actor, best known for voicing Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Darkwing Duck, and many other Disney roles. Cummings has voiced hundreds of characters on film, television, and video games.
Both special guests will sign one autograph per attendee at no charge. Event Promoter Ben Penrod added, “We were able to work out a special one-time-only deal with both voice actors. This is unusual for celebrity autograph signings, but we are really psyched to be able to do this for fans in Southern Maryland and the DC area.”
The Southern Maryland Comic-Con will also feature comic creator Jim Zub and his new Samurai Jack comic book, as well as an exclusive cover variant of My Little Pony #11, both published by IDW Comics. The Southern Maryland Comic-Con is produced by Awesome Conventions, which also produces the Annapolis Comic-Con in Maryland, and Awesome Con in Washington, DC.
