This workshop will explore the first steps towards creating and producing your own comic. Historical examples, active discussions, and critical feedback will take place alongside practical studio work. The course will culminate in a mini-expose of our work throughout the week.

**This course is designed as part one of a two week comics immersive, though each week may be taken individually; second part held during the week of July 8-12. Minimum age is 16 years.
Price: $795
(non-credit course only)

Introduction to Comics II

July 8 – 12, 2013; M – F, 9 am – 4 pm

You made a comic book, so now what? Developing a story and making art for a comic is only half the battle. What you do with your creation after it’s made is what sets apart the pretenders from the contenders. This course will give you and your book a chance to get noticed in a crowd. We will discuss effective cover design, production, promotion, distribution and networking. Learn how to take your project from art desk to convention floor, from your head to their hands. Through first-hand accounts, contemporary examples, studio work and group discussion we’ll brainstorm the best plan of action to bring you goals closer to comic book reality. The course will culminate in a mini-expose of our work throughout the week.

**This course is designed as part two of a two week comics immersive, though each week may be taken individually; first part held during the week of June 24-28. Minimum age for the course is 16 years.
