Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce a signing by JOHN LANDIS for his forthcoming title MONSTERS IN THE MOVIES at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Tuesday 1st November 11th October 6 – 7pm.

Illustrated with over a thousand photographs from the celebrated archives of The Kobal Collection and his own personal vaults, Landis examines the actual monsters of the fantasy, science fiction and horror cinema in a unique and highly personal way. With help from his friends Christopher Lee, Ray Harryhausen, Sam Raimi, John Carpenter, Joe Dante, David Cronenberg and Rick Baker, Monsters in the Movies is an extraordinary look at every monster on film from Hollywood’s most accomplished and influential monster makers themselves.
John Landis has directed some of the most popular movies of all time including The Blues Brothers, Trading Places, National Lampoon’s Animal House, Three Amigos!, Spies Like Us, and Coming to America among many others. He wrote and directed the classic An American Werewolf in London and the groundbreaking Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Landis has directed documentaries including the Emmy award winning Mr Warmth: The Don Rickles Project, and has done extensive work in television. He is married to Costume Designer and noted costume scholar Deborah Nadoolman Landis and has two children.
