TICKETS FOR C2E2 TO GO ON SALE JULY 30

First 100 to Purchase Tickets will be “Founding Members”!

Norwalk, CT, July 27, 2009: Organizers of the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), which will take place April 16 – 18, 2010 at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, have today revealed that tickets for the highly anticipated inaugural show will go on sale July 30, 2009 beginning at 12 noon EST, on the convention’s official website, www.C2E2.com. In addition, convention officials note that the first 100 fans to purchase tickets will be officially recognized as Founding Members of C2E2.

All 100 of C2E2’s Founding Members will receive a public thanks and have their names displayed both online at www.C2E2.com as well as printed in C2E2’s official Program Guide. In addition, all of C2E2’s Founding Members will be provided priority entrance to C2E2’s show floor, so that not only will they be the first fans to purchase C2E2 tickets, but they will also be the first fans to set foot inside C2E2. And, through a gracious partnership with Chicago retailer Chicago Comics, all C2E2 Founding Members will additionally receive 20% off a future Chicago Comics Purchase.

“We are very excited to create a new con in Chicago,” Lance Fensterman, New York Comic Con and C2E2 Show Manager said. “And we are not doing it alone. From partners including Marvel and DC to local friends such as Chicago Comics, to the very fans of Chicago, we are creating this show together, and we very much wish to give back to the first fans who help us make C2E2 a reality. Not only do we plan to blow away fans from the Midwest with the size, scope and content at C2E2, but I’m pleased that we will feature some of the lowest priced tickets of any major con.”

Beginning July 30 and continuing through September 1, 2009 C2E2 tickets will be available at a special Early Bird price: Weekend Pass – $45, Single Day Pass – $20.

Following the Early Bird prices and continuing through April 15, 2010, C2E2’s standard online prices will be: Weekend Pass – $50, Single Day Pass – $25.

The onsite price, which begins when the show opens on April 16, 2010, is: Weekend Pass – $60, Single Day Pass – $30.

Convention officials note that while two major Guest of Honor appearances have already been announced for C2E2, a further announcement revealing several more guests will be made within the next two weeks. “We are moving fast on our entertainment programming,” Fensterman concludes. “We plan to have top talent at our show and we want our fans to be able to make their plans early. We have already announced that registration for Artist Alley is open and we will be revealing some of these appearances, as well as all our other major guest appearances as soon as they are confirmed.” As has been previously announced, celebrated comic book painter and Chicago area resident Alex Ross will appear as a Keystone Guest of Honor and Jeff Smith will appear as a Guest of Honor. Jeff Smith has not appeared in Chicago in the past 10 years.
