The incomparable Kaz presenting Underworld: From Hoboken to Hollywood. In addition to his career as an Emmy-winning writer for animated cartoons like Camp Lazlo, Phineas and Ferb, and SpongeBob Squarepants, Kaz has been drawing his weekly Underworld comic strip since 1992.
Come celebrate the first comprehensive collection of his clever creation on Saturday February 13th at 6:00 PM with a book signing and exhibition of original art.

Cartoonist Kaz appears at Floating World Comics on Friday Feb. 12, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM for the Underworld: From Hoboken to Hollywood release party!
Floating World Comics is excited to host a release party for Kaz’s new Underworld omnibus collection – From Hoboken to Hollywood! Kaz will join us to sign books and celebrate the release of his new book.
In addition to his career as an Emmy-winning writer for animation (Cartoon Network’s Camp Lazlo, Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Squarepants), Kaz has been unleashing his id and corrupting generations with his Harvey-nominated weekly Underworld comic strip since 1992. Underworld hilariously depicts sordid doings in a surreal city, stuffed with almost-parodies of famous comic strip characters, a healthy dose of cigarette-smoking cats, cute little saccharin-cuddly creatures, media- damaged kids, and much more — all destined for a sardonic smashing in typically acerbic Kaz fashion. Kaz’s strip runs in many American alternative weeklies such as the New York Press and the SF Bay Guardian. The Underworld: From Hoboken to Hollywood will be the first ever omnibus collection of the very best of the strip’s 23-year run, with annotations, photos, and other surprises from the author (along with a foreword by Mutts creator Patrick McDonnell).
Kaz was born in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1959. During the 1980s he studied comics under Art Spiegelman and contributed to the early issues of Raw magazine, eventually releasing his first anthology collection, the oversized (and now out of print and highly sought-after) Buzzbomb, with Fantagraphics Books. In 1991 he started the weekly self-syndicated comic strip: Underworld. Fantagraphics began collecting Underworld into book form in April of 1995, with five collections released to date. Sidetrack City and other Tales, a collection of longer comic strips, was published by Fantagraphics in 1996. The Underworld comic strip has been nominated for a Harvey Award four times.
Kaz is married to Linda Marotta, a horror literature critic and expert. They make their home in New York City while Kaz splits his time between there and working in the Los Angeles animation industry.

Voice actor Rob Paulsen welcomes the cast of Adventure Time including Jeremy Shada, Jessica Di Cicco, John DiMaggio, and Tom Kenny to Talkin’ Toons LIVE on Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 8:00 PM at the Hollywood Improv!
The world-famous Hollywood Improv is proud to invite you to join Emmy and Annie award winner Rob Paulsen as he talks about his experiences in voice acting!
About Rob Paulsen:
Born in Detroit, Rob Paulsen spent his childhood in Livonia and Rochester, attending Junior and Senior high school in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Rob loved cartoons like most kids but aspired to be a professional hockey player. “Fortunately, thanks to some big, strong, kid from Winnipeg who drilled me so hard my ears are still ringing, I learned around age 18 I had neither the talent nor the temperament to make a living playing hockey. So, I turned to my other passions: singing and acting.”
The goal of bringing absolute believability to a fictional character, live-action or animated, is what every actor strives for. Those who are committed to their career and who combine experience, passion and skill are likely to succeed.
Those gifted with exceptional talent who focus on maximizing their potential by finding their own niche, quickly break away from the pack. After years of honing their craft and consistently delivering memorable performances in which the character impacts an indelible image on the viewer, the public and the industry take notice, singling out the best.
“I’m getting paid to do what I got in trouble for in the 7th grade,” jests Rob, who won a Daytime Emmy in 1999 as “Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program” for Pinky and The Brain (Warner Bros.) Though nominated twice previously, the victory was especially sweet due to some formidable competition – fellow nominees Louie Anderson, Ernest Borgnine, Dennis Franz and Jeffery Tambor. In addition to his Emmy, Rob won back-to-back Annie Awards in 1997 and 1998. “I absolutely love what I do and thank my lucky stars for twenty-five years of full-time employment in this business,” he says.
“It’s a treat to portray a complex character,” Rob explains about Pinky, a goof-ball mouse with funny teeth, a head filled with clouds and an inane imagination that is punctuated with a staccato laugh. “Besides … where else could I find a job where emotional outbursts and odd exclamations like ‘Egad!,’ ‘Narf!,’ ‘Poit!,’ ‘Splonk!,’ and ‘Zort!’ are allowed and in fact, encouraged?” With over 2,000 half-hours of animation to his credit, Rob’s versatility shines in his starring roles as the voices of Yakko, Pinky and Dr. Scratch ‘n’ Sniff in the Peabody and two-time Emmy award-winning series “Animaniacs.”
Some of Rob’s other well-known animated characters include Raphael of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” Arthur in “The Tick,” the title role in “The Mask” (for a WHOLE lot less dough than Mr. Carrey, thank you), the title role in “Mighty Max,” Carl Wheezer in “Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius,” Jack Fenton in “Danny Phantom,” Bobble in the “Tinkerbell” series of DVDs and hopefully more to come.
Paulsen’s extensive credits include on-camera roles in numerous motion pictures including Body Double, Stewardess School, Eyes of Fire, The Perfect Match, and Warlocked. His television acting credits include guest-starring roles on MacGyver and St. Elsewhere. Additionally, he is one of the most sought-after voice actors in the commercial arena, performing in over 1000 commercial spots.
As passionate about “paying it forward” as he is about his lucrative career, Rob supports various charitable organizations, particularly those benefiting children and military veterans. Rob’s volunteer work with GOALmodels has been particularly rewarding. GOALmodels, a high school program in Reseda, California, is designed to inspire 9th graders to set goals and overcome obstacles in life. Blending his life experiences with passion for his work, his presentations are informative, entertaining and inspiring. In his leisure time, Rob enjoys golf, riding his motorcycle and occasionally lacing up his skates for another chance to relive his past glory on the rink. He spends the majority of his free time with his wife, Parrish, and their two Yorkshire terriers, Pooshie and Tala.

SacAnime welcomes Camilla Luddington (Tomb Raider, Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood) to our Summer 2014 show. This will be her first appearance at a convention. Other recent additions include Neil Napier and Tiio Horn (Assassin’s Creed III), Dave Fennoy and Melissa Hutchison (Telltale Games’ Walking Dead) and Josh Grelle (Attack on Titan).
Previously announced guests include Mark Sheppard, Rodger Bumpass, J. Michael Tatum, Yuri Lowenthal, Johnny Yong Bosch, Roger Craig Smith, and more!
About CAMILLA LUDDINGTON:
Currently starring on ABC’s hit series Grey’s Anatomy, CAMILLA LUDDINGTON has the gift of portraying characters with both strength and vulnerability, and her Dr. Jo Wilson displays plenty of both as she finds her way through complicated storylines of love – opposite the troublesome Dr. Alex Karev — and career. Audiences relate, and love her.
The sci fi/fantasy world has come to love her too for her embodiment of Lara Croft, a different kind of heroine, in the video game Tomb Raider. When the game was released in 2013, critics praised Luddington for giving the classic icon a much-needed reboot. Gamers agreed, buying over a million copies in the first 48 hours of release.
But even before Grey’s and Raider, Luddington had made her mark. In her first starring role in America, she brought to life the real English girl who was destined to become a queen, starring as Kate Middleton in the much-loved Lifetime movie William and Kate. The project launched her career in this country, and was one of the two highest-rated programs ever aired on the network.
From princess to au pair, Luddington has brought life to all kinds of appealing young women. In a major recurring role opposite David Duchovny and Evan Handler on the critically acclaimed Showtime series Californication, she portrayed Lizzie, the seemingly sweet English nanny who would do whatever it took to make it in L.A.
And somewhere between the princess and the nanny came Claudette the Fairy, her recurring role on the award-winning True Blood, where she again was the heroine, protecting series star Anna Paquin from all those True Blood villains.
Luddington was born and raised near London in Berkshire, England. She started acting at age 5, entertaining the family and directing her little brother in their two-character performances. By the time she was 11, she had her first agent and was appearing in local theatre productions. After finishing her studies in Theatre Arts at London’s prestigious Italia Conti Academy in 2007, she moved to Los Angeles, where she now lives and works.
About NEIL NAPIER:
Neil Napier stars in SyFy’s new apocalyptic thriller, Helix as Dr. Peter Farragut, Alan’s flawed and deeply conflicted brother. Season One was a wild ride, and he is excited to get to work on Season Two later in 2014.
Prior to embodying Peter, Neil had the joyous privilege of playing Lt. Karl Hagerman in IFC’s dark and dangerous comedy series, Bullet In The Face. With other TV turns in The Listener (CTV), Blue Mountain State (Spike), Zero Hour (ABC), The Business (IFC) and Naked Josh (Showcase), it’s clear he likes to keep one foot in the dramatic and one foot in the absurd…
After spending much of his youth and early adulthood immersed in the worlds of rugby, football and hockey, Neil has found that his background in athletics has served him well in the world of performance.
In addition to dozens of forays onto the stage (his first love), and roles in cult horror films such as End of the Line and $la$her$, Neil’s physical approach to his craft has been called upon in several recent productions, such as Erased (Weinstein Company), Infected (SyFy), Immortals (Relativity), Riddick (Universal), as well as the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past (Fox Studios).
Videogames also figure large in Neil’s body of work: As well as playing the villainous role of Charles Lee in Assassin’s Creed 3, and the burned out old skater/guide, Bob, in Shaun White Skateboarding, he has voiced and motion-captured characters in several videogames, including Deus Ex; Human Revolution, Watchdogs, Outlast, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Thief IV. Neil is also currently working on several new videogame titles.
Born and raised in Montreal, Neil now resides in Toronto where, when not at work on a set or in a studio, he can be found playing hockey, practicing yoga and trying to get better at guitar.
About TIIO HORN:
Kaniehtiio (Tiio) Horn voiced and provided facial capture for Kaniehtí:io in Assassin’s Creed III.
Tiio was born and raised in Kahnawake, a Mohawk reserve just outside of Montreal.

Other television credits include a rercurring role on Syfy’s Defiance, as well as guest star appearances on Being Human, Alphas and The CW hit show Supernatural. Tiio currently stars in the Netflix original series Hemlock Grove opposite Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård and Landon Liboiron.

In her spare time Tiio plays roller derby, and spends time with friends, family and her cat Boodz. She divides her time between Kahnawake, Toronto and Los Angeles.
