Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood welcomes Liz Climo to the store to participate in a panel discussion and sign her new book, The Little World of Liz Climo, on Thursday, October 2nd at 7pm.

Joining Liz will be a panel of illustrators and animators: Madeleine Flores, webcomic creator of Help Us Great Warrior!; Monica Ray, author of Phuzzy Comics and storyboard artist for Nickelodeon’s upcoming show, Bad Seeds; and Annie award winner, Giancarlo Volpe who has worked on various TV shows including, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This panel will be moderated by director, editor and comic aficionado, Kurt Mattila.

Artist Liz Climo has charmed her fans with her comic world of whimsical animal characters, where everyone from grizzly bears, dinosaurs, rabbits, and anteaters grapple with everyday life with wit and humor. Through her comics, we discover that an armadillo can dress for Halloween, a dinosaur can be a loving parent … and a rhino can squeeze orange juice! This new collection features more than 100 of her comics, starring her beloved characters in all kinds of funny situations, from celebrating holidays to helping friends.

Liz Climo is a character artist for The Simpsons and has worked on The Lebrons and Seth Macfarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. She also the author of Le Petit Monde de Liz, a comic collection published in France as well as a forthcoming children’s book. She lives in Los Angeles.

The Hero Initiative, the charity dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is hitting the Baltimore Comic Con in a massive way. Hero will be at booth #1601 September 5-7, 2014 with exclusive creators, signings, and more!

Hero will be the only place to find legendary writer Dennis O’Neil (Batman, Green Lantern/Green Arrow) and longtime fabled Marvel artist and editor Al Milgrom (Avengers, Spectacular Spider-Man). Look for them all weekend long at booth #1601.

Hero’s exclusive Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #44 will also be on sale at Baltimore, and ALL three artists who created the cover will be on hand for a special signing! Come join Neal for a Spectacular showing of what his studio does in New York as well as hearing Great stories of Comics History told to you buy the legendary man himself Neal Adams!

Neal will be showing a Motion Comic in it’s early stages, of the graphic novel “Blood “that Neal did for “Dark Horse Presents “ “Blood” will be coming out in February 2015 as Book one of the Graphic Novel from Dark Horse. Neal will be showing different pieces of the Blood Motion Comic which is Directed by Neal and animated by his Production Studio who worked on the “Astonishing X-Men Motion Comic for Marvel. Neal will be doing “Blood” as a Motion Comic and then as a fully animated movie. What we’re showing is parts of the motion comic.

Neal will then be giving a talk on “How Comics Happened and the Dirty Silver Age” and then Q&A as well.

2pm – 4pm: Neal presents Blood followed by Q&A (ticketed event, $5 tickets available this weekend!)
