Philippe Labaune Gallery is pleased to present City Dwellers, a new exhibition of work by New York-born, Brooklyn-based artist Peter de Sève. Bringing together original covers and preparatory drawings for The New Yorker, scenes of his native city, character designs from three decades of feature animation, and the private sketchbook drawings in which his most personal work now takes shape.
What unifies these bodies of work is not medium, client, or genre, but the hand itself. A collector of original drawings himself, de Sève remains a devoted advocate for the original. What he values most is how human it is: the light pencil beneath the finished line, revealing an artist still trying to find their way.
We warmly invite you to join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, October 29th, from 6 – 9 p.m. Come experience the exhibition and enjoy a glass of wine in the presence of the artist.
