Kidrobot Announces SDCC 2016 Prints & Signings

Kidrobot’s 2016 SDCC autograph signing schedule will feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman, Street Fighter creator Yoshinori Ono, Frank Kozik, Scott Tolleson, Jesse “J*RYU” Yu, and Josh Mayhem. Kidrobot is thrilled to be working with this talented selection of artists during San Diego Comic Con. All signings will take place at Kidrobot’s booth, #5645.

Kidrobot will offer the opportunity to obtain wristbands prior to the signings of Kevin Eastman and Yoshinori Ono. On preview night, the first 50 fans to purchase a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Medium Figure & the first 50 fans to purchase a Street Fighter Medium Figure will each be given a wristband. This wristband will guarantee a place in line for Kevin Eastman or Yoshinori Ono’s signing. Wristbands will be designated for each signing.

Chuck Jones Gallery to Host Nancy Cartwright Exhibition at SDCC 2016

The Chuck Jones Gallery will host an event to show paintings and sculpture from renowned voice over artist Nancy Cartwright on Saturday, July 23rd at 7:30pm during San Diego International Comic Con. The event is her first ever art gallery exhibition and reception, and is open to the public.

The Emmy and Annie Award-winning actress is best known as the voice of spiky-headed underachiever Bart Simpson on Fox’s 27-year-iconic hit, The Simpsons. In her 34-year career at the microphone, Nancy has lent her voice to hundreds of other award-winning animated series, including Rugrats (Chuckie); Kim Possible (Rufus the Naked Mole Rat); Richie Rich (Gloria); Animaniacs (Mindy); and Chuck Jones’ final work, Timberwolf.

Nancy most recently has created a bronze portrait bust of Bart Simpson, which she gifted to FOX and to the University of Southern California (USC), School of Cinematic Arts. The Bartman sculpture is on permanent display in New York and a second Bartman sculpture is permanently installed in USC’s Cinematic Arts Complex, Steven Spielberg building.

The Chuck Jones Gallery, celebrating its 25th anniversary, represents the finest in the art of American Pop culture. It is also the only gallery in San Diego dedicated to the art of the animated film, representing not only the work of its namesake, four-time Academy Award recipient and legendary animation director and creator, Chuck Jones, but also art work by Dr. Seuss, and all animation studios.

John Barrowman Debuts Torchwood #1 at SDCC 2016

08032016_Torchwood1_JBarrowmanJohn Barrowman (star of Torchwood, Doctor Who, and Arrow) has announced the comic debut of TORCHWOOD #1 from Titan Comics which he co-writes alongside his sister Carole Barrowman! The first issue will launch at Comic-Con International in San Diego in two weeks with a panel and signings scheduled.

Alongside the regular edition (in comic book stores August 3), Titan Comics, Carole and I are
proud to present a special convention edition of Torchwood which includes the entirety of Torchwood #1 plus extra fan-favorite adventure The Selkie with a brand-new cover from comic book legend Tommy Lee Edwards (Batman, Hellboy).

These regular and special editions are available to purchase at the Titan booth #5537 at San Diego Comic-Con. Carole and I will be guests on a special Titan panel where fans will be treated to announcements, behind-the-scenes reveals and upcoming plans for the Torchwood comic series. This panel will take place on Saturday July 23 at 15:30 in room 5AB.

You will also have the opportunity to meet Carole and I at the show as we will be signing copies of Torchwood #1 on Sunday July 24 between 11:00am and 12:00pm at Autograph Area, Table AA21.

Let us explain how this works, after over 30+ years of setting up at conventions, one thing has always been certain, collectors have always found their way to our booths to visit, view art, rest and invariably ask if we would offer their collectibles while at the show. The Squad Up! Suicide Squad Cosplay Contest launches today from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. and invites you to cosplay as your favorite squad member for a chance to win a trip to San Diego this July for Comic-Con International. Have you always wanted to build a Deadshot mask? Is Harley Quinn your spirit animal? Got a purple alligator-skinned coat in the back of your closet that you’ve been wondering what to do with? Then this contest is for you!

Here’s how it works:

  • Assemble a costume based on the look of any of the following characters from Warner Bros.’s upcoming Suicide Squad film: Deadshot, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Colonel Rick Flag, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang, El Diablo, Killer Croc, Enchantress, Slipknot, and Katana.
  • Take a photo of yourself wearing your costume. Make sure it’s a good quality photo that really shows off your costume!
  • Enter using one of the three methods of entry listed here.

You can find the full list of rules and conditions here. Trust us, you’ll want to check them out. After the entry period, fans will be able to vote in two separate rounds and help us choose finalists in each of the character categories. Once we have our finalists, eleven different winners—one for each character—will be chosen.

It’s here! San Diego Comic-Con 2015 is upon us, and Dark Horse Comics is delivering a full slate of signings from your favorite creators!



All creators signing in our booth offer their autographs for FREE. FREE prints, comics, or posters are provided for most of our signings (while supplies last). You may purchase or bring items to be signed; however, we may restrict the type or number of items to be signed as necessary.

Some signings require a wristband for entry, as noted on the schedule. Drawings for wristbands for these events will begin at show opening the day before and day of each signing. Come to the Dark Horse booth early for the best chance to join these events.

Lines may also be closed for some signings due to crowding or time restrictions.

We have two signing stages. One features art by Dave Palumbo for our Prometheus/Aliens/AVP/Predator: Fire and Stone crossover comic event. The other features art by E. M. Gist for Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s The Strain. The location of each signing is indicated by the following abbreviations:
