New Green Lantern writer, Rob Venditti, will be at A Comic Shop Wednesday June 5th to sign the first issue of his Green Lantern run!

He’s taking over for Geoff Johns with issue #21, and the ring chose him mainly because of his work on Valiant’s X-O Manowar.

You should also check out his Surrogates (which was made into a Bruce Willis movie) and Homeland Directive.

This will be a FREE signing and meet-up in the Geek Easy during the day with (green) food and beer specials and then a Green Lantern themed after party.

The party isn’t going on too late because it’s a Wednesday and Rob and I are going to Heroes Con the next day!

Come by and have a great time with a great guy. You can also warn him not to screw up Green Lantern, he can take it, he can overcome great fear!

Please join The Beguiling in welcoming Cary Nord, artist of many volumes of Conan and the artists of the current ongoing X-O Manowar series from Valiant, at his first signing here.

Cary Nord will be at The Beguiling in celebration of X-O MANOWAR VOLUME 1: BY THE SWORD, which will be released on that day. In addition, The Beguiling will have lots of copies of his previous issues, his work on Conan, and much more available for sale at the signing.

Cary has just moved back to Toronto, so we hope Toronto fans will come out and give him a warm welcome.

Valiant Hits Baltimore Comic-Con 2012 with Panel and Exclusives

Valiant is proud to announce that it will make its first appearance at the Baltimore Comic-Con on September 8th and 9th, 2012! All weekend long, Valiant creators and staff will be boothside for a jam-packed slate of convention-only giveaways, signings, portfolio reviews, and panel appearances.

This year’s Baltimore Comic-Con will be held September 8-9, 2012. Convention hours are Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. The ceremony and banquet for the Harvey Awards will be held Saturday night, September 8th.

MD – X-O Manowar Signings

Robert Venditti, author of the new Valiant Comics series X-O Manowar and The Surrogates, signs at both Alliance Comics locations next weekend, Saturday, June 9th in Baltimore and Sunday, June 10th in Silver Spring.  He will appear at each store from 12 noon to 3pm!

Mr. Venditti will be on hand to chat with fans and sign autographs.  It will be a great time to ask questions about the exciting new X-O Manowar series and pick up a signed copy of X-O Manowar #1 and #2, as well as the SURROGATES original graphic novel.
