Multi award-winning writer Mark Millar is on a tour to celebrate the release of the Chrononauts and Jupiter’s Circle paperbacks, and he’s coming to Gosh! Mark will be here Saturday 31st October from 1-2pm so cancel your plans and mark those calendars!
He doesn’t really need an introduction, but just in case you hadn’t heard, Mark Millar is the mastermind behind smash hit comics Kick-Ass and Wanted. Both these skewed takes on the classic superhero movie have been made into successful films and were sold to Hollywood before the first issue even hit the stands! But his genius doesn’t stop there: he’s also the co- creator of Jupiter’s Legacy with artist Frank Quitely, he’s revamped the X-Men, brought Captain America into the 21st Century, launched a number one Spider-Man title and made Superman a communist. And of course his reinvention of the Avengers laid the groundwork for what would become some of the highest grossing films of all time. His latest book Chrononauts, melds the mission of NASA with a group of rogue time travellers. The four issue series, with art by Sean Murphy, debuted in March from Image Comics and you can bet there’s a movie on the way. And Jupiter’s Circle, the Jupiter’s Legacy prequel drawn by Wilfredo Torres and Davide Gianfelice, continues to break new ground. We’re extremely excited about the release of Chrononauts Volume 1 and Jupiter’s Circle Volume 1 in trade paperback and we cant wait to be joined by Mark here at Gosh!
Chrononauts Volume 1 hits the shelves in September and Image comics says it’s ‘A bromance for the ages! Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly are two buddies who love to have fun. They’re also scientific geniuses. When their research leads them to a time-traveling adventure, will they use their knowledge for the good of all mankind? Or use the space-time continuum for their own ends? This is the story of man’s first, televised steps through the time-stream and everything going wrong in the process.’
Jupiter’s Circle Volume 1 will be released in October. ‘The most celebrated superheroes in mid-century America seem to have it all— fame, riches, adoration—but tensions simmer beneath the glossy surface, threatening to crack open the secrets behind their public AND private exploits. Before the family dynasty in JUPITER’S LEGACY began, there was JUPITER’S CIRCLE—a story about a team whose personal dramas collide with super-powered spectacle!’
The signing will get underway from 1-2pm on the 31st of October. If you can’t make it along to see Mark but you want a signed copy, then drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll arrange for a copy to be popped aside for you. Postage in the UK is a flat rate of £5 and quotes for international shipping are available on request.
