Wizard World and New Baby Productions join forces for Elemental Fources issues #4-6!
By Kevin Mahadeo
As New Baby wraps up its six issue miniseries Elemental Fources—written by Crisman Strunk and Eric Mullarky with art by John Becaro and Ernest Jocson—it decided to add a little magic to the mix with special “red color” variant covers offered exclusively to Wizard World Philadelphia attendees. Each variant cover features a limited print run of only 75 issues, so be sure to grab these red covers while you can and make other comic readers green with envy.
Only available at the New Baby Productions Booth (Booth #124), purchase each cover for $3 or get the entire six issue miniseries for $14.
Set in the not-too-distant future of 2012, Elemental Fources follows both the heroic and social lives of four human half-breeds each gifted with power over one of the central elements: earth, air, fire and water. Brought together by The Brotherhood—a secret society based in alchemy—the four Fources fight to save a world rapidly heading toward ultimate destruction.

About The Hero Initiative
The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterday’s creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.
Since its inception, The Hero Initiative has had the good fortune to grant over $400,000 to the comic book veterans who have paved the way for those in the industry today. For more information, visit www.heroinitiative.org or call 626-676-6354.
Emma Caufield Makes 1st US Appearance at WW Philly
June 3, 2009 by Brian Pate
Filed under Comic Books, Convention News, Pennsylvania, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Top Stories
Press Release:
EMMA CAUFIELD MAKES 1ST US APPEARANCE AT WIZARD WORLD PHILADELPHIA
Caufield is best known and loved for her starring role as the young and beautiful demon-turned-mortal, “Anya” on the hit series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997) starting in 1999. Wizard World Philadelphia is her first U.S. convention appearance!
Wizard World Philly debuts Emma Caufield aka Anya of Buffy fame for her first ever U.S. convention appearance.
“I’m excited to be making my first signing appearance in the US at Wizard World Philly! Can’t wait to meet all the fans and experience one of America’s greatest cities,” said Caufield of her commitment to the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic-Con.
Caulfield’s role as “Anya” originally started out as a guest, demon-of-the-week, appearance in a December 1998 episode. She was called back for a few more guest spots for plot reasons, which is when Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy, realized her talent.
She appeared in most of the episodes the following season, and after that, was promoted to a full time series regular. Caulfield’s humor and levity added a comedic dimension to the show, which made its final bow in May 2003.
Most recently Emma headlined an all star cast, playing the role of “Oona” in the critically acclaimed comedy/sci-fi film Timer ( 2009), an Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also starred in the festival favorite, indi-comedy Why Am I Doing This? (2009) where she played “Amber”, a Hollywood party girl who will do anything for a shot at stardom.
Emma also recently guest starred in the hit television show Private Practice and continues to provide voices for a variety of characters for the hit animated show Robot Chicken.
Other notable roles include a turn as a major character on “Beverly Hills, 90210″ (1990) in the 1995-1996 as Brandon’s journalist girlfriend, Susan Keats, in which she appeared in thirty episodes.
Emma also starred as “Caitlin Green” in the Revolution Studios thriller, Darkness Falls (2003), which opened as the number one film at the box office. Emma also starred and executive produced the award winning ( Newport Beach Film Festival) mockumentary Bandwagon (2004), where she played a self absorbed but well meaning version of herself. In 2006, Emma starred in the award winning short film Hollow, where she took home two Best Actress awards ( Beverly Hills Film Festival and Syndey Film Festival), for her stirring performance as a disturbed, heroin addicted mother.

Senior Vice President—Executive Editor of DC Comics Dan DiDio is the latest Special Guest for Wizard World Philadelphia.
DiDio will be participating in two panels at Wizard World Philadelphia. On Saturday, June 20, DiDio takes lead of the DC Nation Panel, which teases the company’s upcoming titles and gets fans pumped over the DCU. Meanwhile on Sunday, DiDio takes a more relaxed approach and conducts the laid-back Sunday Conversation, which revolves around creators and fans uniting over their love of comics in general.
