Jane Wiedlin is the sexy and charismatic guitar player for The GoGos! One of the best known Rock/Pop groups to emerge from the 1980′s, Jane is back at work, creating a stage production for her self published comic series “Lady Robotica”.

Bigwig Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows, 50 Girls 50), will teach a 90-minute Figure Drawing Workshop with a live model, demonstrating fundamentals of technique and style. Any aspiring artist is welcome to sit in the audience and work along with Frank, who will provide priceless tips and critiques! And Inker Extraordinaire Mick Gray (Starman, Promethea) will once again provide a weekend-long inking demonstration as he works on his current comic book assignment at his booth! In conjunction with San Francisco’s Cartoon Art Museum, Big Wow! Comic Fest proudly presents “BATMAN!, 75 years a Hero” Featuring Seven Decades of Original Art and Memorabilia from the DC Comics world-famous Super Hero. Famous Monsters of Filmland-the magazine that has inspired generations of imaginations such as Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many more-has teamed up with Big Wow to bring you a film fest dedicated to celebrating fun and original movies and screenplays. At FM it has been our mission for over 50 years to find the next generation of filmmakers, authors, and monster makers, and help them to get a foothold in the entertainment industry.

Japan’s Heroes and Monsters
Both Saturday and Sunday August Ragone and his Kaiju crew will be hosting FM’s panel that will feature Kenpachiro Satsuma (Godzilla, ’84-’95), Bin Furuya (Ultraman), and Daisuke Ban (Kikaida, Inazuman). Each actor will tell their stories of how they came to embody these incredible roles, as well as take questions from the audience.
Guaranteed to be a lively discussion between painter Bob Eggleton and August Ragone! Bob has painted some of the most memorable Godzilla covers for Famous Monsters. Bob and August will will discuss their passion for the world’s most infamous Kaiju!

Connecticut ComiCONN adds more Comic Legends to 3 Day Event!
Connecticut ComiCONN celebrates its 5th annual event with a move to the Webster Bank Arena and expands to a 3-Day event!
To meet the demands of its’ ever-growing fan base, Connecticut ComiCONN (a.k.a. ComiCONN) has moved to a larger venue and added additional days to its con to be held August 15-17 at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT.
ComiCONN has been providing fans of comic books, collectibles and cosplay an event to come out and celebrate their passion for years and is the Nutmeg State’s largest event of its kind. “ComiCONN has always been called “a show for the fans by the fans”, said ComiCONN organizer, Mitch Hallock, “For that reason we are assembling three days saluting the glory of comics with some of their greatest creators”.

They will be joined by Sparks creator Christopher Folino and artist Tyler Endicott in signing and celebrating the release of the Sparks graphic novel. Our own Derek McCaw, editor of the original Sparks series, will be lurking about, too.
The Sparks graphic novel will be officially released via Amazon on Friday, March 1st, but you can get it exclusively at Illusive Comics & Games, on Thursday the 28th!
The first 50 fans at Illusive Comics & Games on the 28th will get a copy of the original first issue signed by Katt. In addition, Folino will be giving away tickets to Friday night’s World premiere of the movie adaption at Cinequest in the California theater.
We will pre-sell 50 tickets, in store. More tickets will be available the day of the event.

Spooky Empire is proud to announce the greatest gathering of horror icons to ever hit the state of Florida, including a Killer Klowns From Outer Space Reunion featuring the creators Stephen, Edward and Charlie Chiodo, Suzanne Snyder, Grant Cramer, Harrod Blank and Mike Martinez. Legendary author Clive Barker (“Hellraiser”, “Candyman”) will be on hand all three days to meet his fans as will the very recognizable actor Malcolm McDowell (“A Clockwork Orange”, “Caligula”, “Heroes”, “Entourage”).
But that’s not all…also making appearances at this three-day fest will be Lance Henriksen from hit films including “Aliens” and “Terminator” and the television show “Millennium”. From the very popular HBO series “True Blood”, Sam Trammell “Sam”, Kristin Bauer “Pam” and Mariana Klaveno “Lorena” will be greeting their hordes of fans. Horror fan favorites Jeffrey Combs (“Re-Animator”) and Tom Atkins (“Halloween II”, “The Fog”, “Night of the Creeps”) are also slated to appear.

Fresh off a successful new event (May-Hem), Spooky Empire has jumped right into their annual show, Ultimate Horror Weekend. The date this year is October 7-9, 2011 held at the usual haunt, The Wyndham Orlando Resort. Now nine years and growing, Spooky Empire has become a well-established show, known all over for the some of the best guests, events, and of course parties! With a stellar starting lineup, this year is no exception.
The first batch of celebrity guests has been announced and includes some frightful new faces. Your requests have not gone unnoticed. Lance Henriksen has signed on as one of our first big announcements. Lance is best known for his parts in Aliens, Terminator, Powder and the TV series Millennium. Another new addition is Tom Atkins of Halloween III, The Fog, and Night of the Creeps. Barry Bostwick will also be making his first appearance at Spooky Empire. Mr. Bostwick is best remembered for his part in the cult film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”, as Brad.
Spooky Empire will turn into a regular three ring circus when fans catch a glimpse of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space reunion. They’ve rounded up some of the cast and crew including the Chiodo Brothers; Stephen, Edward and Charlie as well as Suzanne Snyder, Grant Cramer and a couple of “klowns” Harrod Blank and Mike Martinez. Get your popcorn ready!
Other guests joining in on the fun will be Tony Todd of Candyman, iconic wrestler Roddy Piper also known for his film They Live, and Gunnar Hansen, the original “Leatherface” from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. For the fans of House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects…Bill Moseley, Michael Berryman and Tom Towles will be in attendance. Michael Berryman is, of course, best known for his part in The Hills Have Eyes.
Joe Bob Brigg’s will be “Drivin’ In” and William Katt will be “Flyin’ in” to Spooky Empire. Horror Host Briggs is best known as the host of Joe Bob’s Drive-in Theater while William Katt is best known for his role as “The Greatest American Hero” and the classic film “Carrie” . Jill Whitlow of Night of the Creeps, Kyra Schon and fan favorite Bill Hinzman of Night of the Living Dead will be together again, exclusively at Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend!
