We will offer celebrity meet and greets, discussion panels, workshops, screenings, demonstrations, events, gaming, costume contests, tournaments, and competitions. Costume Contest at 2:00 Pm Sat 20 & Sun 21, 2016. Tennessee Wraith Chasers (Ghost Asylum) will offer a live “pre con” celebrity investigation August 19th from 6:00pm at the Victorian Inn. Several “pre con” and “post con” activities such as a “Villain and Heroes Ball” are planned. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Arc Gateway, EscaRosa Coalition On the Homeless, Inc., Making Stride with Breast Cancer, The Ronald McDonald House, and various local charities. Discount for Law Enforcement, EMS, Firefighters, and Military.

The Steel City Con is the exclusive comic con of the Monroeville Convention Center.  It is one of the largest comic cons in the United States with over 100,000 square feet of convention space and filled with 750 vendor tables,  artist alley, and celebrity guests.  At the Steel City Con you can meet TV and film celebrities along with experience celebrity Q&As, panels, celebrity photo ops, and the Artist Charity Quick Sketch. You can also take part in the Steel City Con’s cosplay, trivia contest and costume contests!

Jane Wiedlin is the sexy and charismatic guitar player for The GoGos! One of the best known Rock/Pop groups to emerge from the 1980’s, Jane is back at work, creating a stage production for her self published comic series “Lady Robotica”.

Also Appearing will be: Kevin Bernard Grevioux (Co-Writer, Producer and actor in “Underworld”, “I, Frankenstein” and comic book writer), Damion Poitier (Avengers (in the last 2 minutes, he was the surprise Villian), Star Trek, Hunter Prey…and the son of Sidney Poitier). Super-Star Cartoonist and Big Wow! Bigwig Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows, 50 Girls 50), will teach a 90-minute Figure Drawing Workshop with a live model, demonstrating fundamentals of technique and style. Any aspiring artist is welcome to sit in the audience and work along with Frank, who will provide priceless tips and critiques! And Inker Extraordinaire Mick Gray (Starman, Promethea) will once again provide a weekend-long inking demonstration as he works on his current comic book assignment at his booth! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see professional comic artists at work!

In conjunction with San Francisco’s Cartoon Art Museum, Big Wow! Comic Fest proudly presents “BATMAN!, 75 years a Hero” Featuring Seven Decades of Original Art and Memorabilia from the DC Comics world-famous Super Hero. Also, there will be 2 additional shows, “The Art of MIKE ZECK!” And “The ART of FAMOUS MONSTERS”.

Famous Monsters Film Festival

Famous Monsters of Filmland-the magazine that has inspired generations of imaginations such as Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many more-has teamed up with Big Wow to bring you a film fest dedicated to celebrating fun and original movies and screenplays. At FM it has been our mission for over 50 years to find the next generation of filmmakers, authors, and monster makers, and help them to get a foothold in the entertainment industry.

The Film Festival will run the entire weekend. The schedule of films and their viewing Rooms will be posted soon! Entries may still be submitted and you do so by Clicking Here!

Famous Monsters Panels and Programs!

Japan’s Heroes and Monsters
Both Saturday and Sunday August Ragone and his Kaiju crew will be hosting FM’s panel that will feature Kenpachiro Satsuma (Godzilla, ’84-’95), Bin Furuya (Ultraman), and Daisuke Ban (Kikaida, Inazuman). Each actor will tell their stories of how they came to embody these incredible roles, as well as take questions from the audience.

Godzilla Art
Guaranteed to be a lively discussion between painter Bob Eggleton and August Ragone! Bob has painted some of the most memorable Godzilla covers for Famous Monsters. Bob and August will will discuss their passion for the world’s most infamous Kaiju!

Connecticut ComiCONN adds more Comic Legends to 3 Day Event!

Connecticut ComiCONN celebrates its 5th annual event with a move to the Webster Bank Arena and expands to a 3-Day event!

To meet the demands of its’ ever-growing fan base, Connecticut ComiCONN (a.k.a. ComiCONN) has moved to a larger venue and added additional days to its con to be held August 15-17 at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT.

ComiCONN has been providing fans of comic books, collectibles and cosplay an event to come out and celebrate their passion for years and is the Nutmeg State’s largest event of its kind. “ComiCONN has always been called “a show for the fans by the fans”, said ComiCONN organizer, Mitch Hallock, “For that reason we are assembling three days saluting the glory of comics with some of their greatest creators”.

CA – Sparks Launch Party


Actors William Katt, Clancy Brown, and Chase Williamson appear at Illusive Comics on Thursday, February 28th from 6:00 till 9:00 pm! They will be joined by Sparks creator Christopher Folino and artist Tyler Endicott in signing and celebrating the release of the Sparks graphic novel. Our own Derek McCaw, editor of the original Sparks series, will be lurking about, too.

The Sparks graphic novel will be officially released via Amazon on Friday, March 1st, but you can get it exclusively at Illusive Comics & Games, on Thursday the 28th!

The first 50 fans at Illusive Comics & Games on the 28th will get a copy of the original first issue signed by Katt. In addition, Folino will be giving away tickets to Friday night’s World premiere of the movie adaption at Cinequest in the California theater.

We will pre-sell 50 tickets, in store. More tickets will be available the day of the event.

Fans can pay $20 to get a copy of Sparks or 1 memorabilia item signed or have 1 photo taken with an actor. Max of 2 items per person ( for a total $40).

William Katt, star of The Greatest American Hero, appears at Illusive Comics and Games on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM to sign Sparks.

A superhero noir thriller about a masked vigilante Ian Sparks who discovers the dark side to heroism. Going after the nation’s most notorious super criminal leaves Sparks’ life and reputation in ruins.

SPARKS is based on the independently released graphic novel series and has been adapted for the big screen by the series creator, Christopher Folino.
The feature film version brings together two of Hollywood’s rising stars Chase Williamson (John Dies At The End) and Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism) who are supported by award winning actors Clancy Brown (Highlander, The Shawshank Redemption), Clint Howard (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Jake Busey (Starship Troopers) and William Katt (Carrie, The Greatest American Hero).
SPARKS is currently in post production and scheduled for release on March 1st.
