MI – The Neighborhood Watch Signing

Press Release:

Vault of Midnight Grand Rapids is excited to announce that Cody Flowers & Sean Cope will be visiting us for a signing and to promote their new indie series, The Neighborhood Watch.

Currently on its second issue, The Neighborhood Watch is a thrilling murder mystery and the first series by the creative duo, both Grand Rapids natives. We couldn’t be happier to give these comics a home on our shelves, currently available at all 3 of our locations!

Nadia, the anonymous curator of the blog The Neighborhood Watch, has made a national name for her blog by exposing con artists posing as superheroes. Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, though, especially when nobody knows that it’s you behind the blog. Nadia is broke and living with her successful older sister, Esther. When Nadia learns the criminals she has been putting away are being killed in their cells, she is determined to save the lives of her blog victims before their clock runs out…

Sean & Cody will be signing in the Grand Rapids shop on February 18th from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. Learn more about the series and stay up to date on the latest info by following The Neighborhood Watch on Facebook at facebook.com/TNWcomic

MI – Threadbare Signing

000000000000-ThreadbareAnne Elizabeth Moore appears for the first-ever signing at Vault of Midnight’s Detroit shop on Friday, June 24 at 7:00 PM.

Join us and hang out with the award winning critic, anthologist, writer, and all-around bad ass Anne Elizabeth Moore as she celebrates the release of her newest work Threadbare: Clothes, Sex & Trafficking.

Threadbare works through 22 vignettes to tell the story of clothes from angles often left ignored: “Narratives relate to fashion models, factory workers, salespeople, international trade agreements, foreign-trade zones, antisex trafficking efforts, and the vicious-cycle interplay between working in the garment business vs. the sex industry” (Library Journal).

Moore is also the author of Unmarketable, Cambodian Grrrl, and was the inaugural editor of Best American Comics.
