Writer Kieron Gillen and artist Kev Walker will be signing the first issue of Star Wars: Doctor Aphra at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Wednesday 7th December at 6:00pm.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra – Following her time in the clutches of Darth Vader, Doctor Aphra has barely escaped with her life. If he ever learns of her survival, he’ll hunt her to the ends of the galaxy. But for now, it’s time for a return to what she does best.

With the droids 0-0-0 and BT-1 in tow, she’s off in search of rare artifacts from the galactic center to the Outer Rim and everywhere in between. Aphra’s got debts to pay after all. Just as long as she can stay one step ahead of the Empire, some Bounty Hunters and just about everyone else in the galaxy!

Kieron Gillen came to attention as a comic writer with his collaboration with Jamie McKelvie, Phonogram. In 2014 the same partnership managed to find a way to make their brand of pop-comics sell, with the critical and commercial smash, The Wicked + The Divine. He’s worked for publishers including Marvel, Image and Avatar, on books as varied as Iron Man, Uber, THREE, Thor, Journey Into Mystery, Uncanny X-Men and many more. His acclaimed work on Marvel’s Darth Vader introduced the character of Doctor Aphra.

Kev Walker began his career on 2000 AD and Warhammer comics as well as a number of DC and Marvel titles. He is also noted for his illustrations for the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering.

Press Release:

Forbidden Planet are delighted to bring you a signing for the brand new hardcovers of UBER and THREE, both from writer Kieron Gillen! Join Kieron at the London Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8JR, on Friday 11th April from 6 – 7pm!

In UBER, it’s April 24, 1945. The world holds its collective breath as the war is only days away from ending. Russian troops move through Germany to the final objective… Hitler himself. As those around the mad dictator crumble, the much ridiculed threats of the “Wunderwafen” materialise. A new weapon is delivered, one with unstoppable power – a weapon like no other, and with a madman pulling the trigger. The Ubers change the direction of World War II, providing a dark and uncompromising alternative history in a way that you’ve never seen.

In THREE, we return to the world of Ancient Sparta, where three Helot slaves are running for their lives – and pursuing them are three hundred of their Spartan masters. Includes cover gallery, making of material, and annotations. This story takes place during the events of 300.

Press Release:

Forbidden Planet are delighted to bring you a signing for our LIMITED EDITION VARIANTS OF UBER #0 and UBER #1 by writer Kieron Gillen! Join Kieron at the London Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8JR, on Saturday 11th May 1 – 2pm!

Uber #0. 1945. Germany is in ruins. The war in the west can only be days away from ending. Threats of “wunderwaffen” to be unleashed by the dying Reich have become laughable. There are no miracle weapons here. It’s over. It has to be over. It’s not. There’s been stories which have mixed enhanced humans and World War 2 before. There’s never been one like this. See super beings in a whole new light as Gillen presents an epic new series that not only rewrites history, it redefines the genre. From the jaws of defeat, the Nazi war machine is resurrected by walking battleship superhuman soldiers who turn the tide of World War II.

In Uber #1, Super soldiers now turn the machinations of the Twentieth Century’s greatest madman into reality. The Ubers are here and the world will tremble at their feet. But a deeply entrenched spy could be the difference in seeing the world remade in the Nazi vision and the Allies finding a way to stem the tide. In this new, ongoing comics series, Superstar writer Kieron Gillen (Invincible Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men) delivers a brutal alternate timeline tale of super humans first appearing during WW2.
