About Dave Roman:
Dave Roman is the author of several graphic novels including Astronaut Academy: Zero Gravity, Teen Boat! and Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery. He has contributed stories to Explorer: The Mystery Boxes, Nursery Rhyme Comics, and is the co-author of two New York Times bestselling graphic novels, X-Men: Misfits and The Last Airbender: Zuko’s Story. Roman is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and worked as a comics editor for the groundbreaking Nickelodeon Magazine from 1998 to 2009. He lives in NYC with his wife, and fellow comic artist, Raina Telgemeier.

NYC – Astronaut Academy Release Party

Cartoonist Dave Roman returns to Word Bookstore on Wednesday May 22nd at 7:00 pm to celebrate the sequel to his popular graphic novel Astronaut Academy with a drawing jam and release party. Anything goes when Dave picks up his pen, so expect the unexpected!

WA – Teen Boat Cartoonists Workshop

Cartoonists Dave Roman and John Green will give a cartooning workshop at the Montlake Library on Monday, March 4th, from 6:30 to 7:30pm! They’ll talk about and demonstrate our processes behind creating characters for TEEN BOAT! and Astronaut Academy, and maybe even draw a SpongeBob or Phineas & Ferb while we’re at it. Kids will learn how to develop their own characters and comics. Registration is required, more info can be found here:

We’re pleased to announce final times, guests, and agendas for our panels and programs at MoCCA Fest this year. We have two buzzing floors of activity, that include downstairs panel discussions as well as our main exhibitor floor upstairs. Whether you’re perusing the show floor for your favorite finds, catching up on the latest with Gary Panter, or learning to make your very own accordion book, there’s something for everyone.
