Celebrating the launch of all new Marvel Now She-Hulk #1 as well as the release of Superman/Wonder Woman #5, Charles Soule has a slew of great books on the stands, with Swamp Thing, Thunderbolts, Red Lanterns, and Letter 44. His original series, 27, also turned some heads and he is also writing the Inhuman series which comes this April.
We’re very happy to have him at this great event, which you will not want to miss!

Did you know that this February 8th is 2.8.14?! (And according to Green Lantern 2814 is Earth’s sector). Well we can’t let this go by without celebrating it as Lantern Day!
And since the Red Lanterns current patrol 2814, we’ll have their scribe, Charles Soule, here! Guy Gardner will be here too! The first 28 people to show up will get a free Green Lantern/Red Lanterns #28. We’ll have other raffles and door prizes too (including an all-the-damn-books-Soule-wrote-this-year prize pack).
Soule will start off with a live interview, then a Q & A about writing seven freaking books a month. He’s also a lawyer, so have some legal questions ready. More crazy stuff will be announced soon.

Comics superstar Scott Snyder will host a surprise Batman panel on Sunday August 4th at 4:00 pm in the Beacon Hall room! Come prepared to ask your questions about the Court of Owls, Death of the Family, The Black Mirror, Gates of Gotham, and the current storyline Zero Year, a retelling of Bruce Wayne’s early days as Batman. In addition to the New 52 Batman title Scott also writes the mini-series Superman: Unchained and his Vertigo series American Vampire and The Wake. He has previously written Swamp Thing, Detective Comics, and more.

Eric Gapstur: Finalist in Amazon’s Comic Strip Superstar contest! He currently working on his own strip comic Belle Plaine as well as honing his comic inking skills. He has a couple Green Hornet covers to his credit, and recently completed a Batman Legends of the Dark Knight story with Phil Hester. Be on the lookout for an upcoming Adventures of Superman story in the near future!

GraniteCon is pleased to announce legendary writer and co-creator of dozens of major characters including the Canucklehead himself, Wolverine, Len Wein!
Attending his first Granitecon this September (which will be the 50th anniversary of X-Men), Len has co-created a variety of big comic characters, including Swamp Thing, Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Lucius Fox (amongst tons upon tons of other characters), as well as having written several episodes of hit TV shows like X-Men, Batman: TAS, Spider-Man, Ben 10, and Super Hero Squad! Len has also worked on virtually every major title for DC and Marvel in his career, with the latest having written the “Before Watchman: Ozymandias” mini series for DC!
We’re pleased to have Len added to our growing list of guests for this year’s show! To celebrate their 10 year anniversary Granitecon expands to a two day show next September 28-29th and moving into the much larger Expo Hall of the Manchester Radisson! Artist Charles Vess presents a program at the Grace Street Theatre on Thursday April 18th at 7:00 pm! There will be a reception following at the James Branch Cabell Memorial Library with a display of art from the book.
Charles Vess, recipient of Eisner and World Fantasy Awards and many other accolades, also a VCU alumnus (B.F.A. 1974), will discuss his newest book project, The Cats of Tanglewood Forest, and his career of visual magic making. Following the event will be a book sale and signing. Doors open at 6 p.m. Seating is limited, and registration is required. Any unclaimed seats at curtain time will be released on a first-come basis. Registration will open soon. Parking is available for a fee in the West Broad Street and West Main Street parking decks.
