WWE Superstar Randy Orton to Attend Wizard World Louisville Comic Con 2014

Randy Orton

Press Release:

WWE® Superstar Randy Orton® To Attend Wizard World Louisville Comic Con on Saturday, March 29

WWE’s ‘Apex Predator’ Joins Top Celebrities Matt Smith, Michael Rooker, Summer Glau, Sean Astin At Inaugural Pop Culture Festival At Kentucky International Convention Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky., February 26, 2014 – WWE® Superstar Randy Orton® makes a triumphant return to Wizard World when he appears at the inaugural Louisville Comic Con on Saturday, March 29, at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Orton will meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo-ops in a three-hour appearance from 1-4 p.m.

From the moment he was hatched, “The Viper” walked among the ring’s most revered figures, even calling one of them “dad.” His father is WWE Hall of Famer “Cowboy” Bob Orton, his uncle Barry “Barry O” Orton and his grandfather, the late “The Big O,” Bob Orton Sr., all among the most fierce and rugged grapplers of their generations.

The voices coiling through Orton’s head today have not misguided him. And neither did Triple H and Ric Flair, who groomed Orton early on, welcoming him into their elite faction, Evolution. Under their tutelage, the 24-year-old Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history at SummerSlam 2004. The next night on Raw, however, an envious Triple H, who coveted Orton’s championship, attacked his stablemate and jettisoned him from the faction.

WWE’s Apex Predator’s next move as the Face of WWE and Champions of Champions remains unknown; all that is certain is that when The Viper next strikes, it will be without warning.

“I greatly enjoyed my first Wizard World show last year, and I can’t wait to meet a whole new set of fans in Louisville, a real hotbed for wrestling,” said Orton.

Wizard World CEO John Macaluso adds, “Randy has a great following, which fans experienced first-hand in St. Louis last year. He adds a great new dimension to our stellar guest list for our first event in Louisville next month.”

Orton joins popular Wizard World celebrity guests Matt Smith, Michael Rooker, Summer Glau, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and many others among the celebrity roster headliners at Wizard World Louisville Comic Con. They will be joined by a top-drawer collection of well-known artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions in the fourth event on Wizard World’s 16-show 2014 calendar.

Stuller (Ink-StainedAmazon, GeekGirlCon), and Traci Cohen (CSU-Sacramento) examine how comic books and graphic novels provide a new form of media adaptation in which the graphic novel form furthers the canon or official continuity of television series as sequels to the original material. Creator Joss Whedon’s television universes enjoy new life in print (e.g. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9).
