ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Stephan Pastis is the creator of Pearls Before Swine, an acclaimed comic strip that appears in more than seven hundred newspapers and boasts a devoted following. The fourth book in the series, Timmy Failure: Sanitized for Your Protection releases in October 2015. He lives in Northern California.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Some surprising news sends Timmy Failure on a hilarious caper as the “New York Times” best-selling series continues. “Behold You are all about to be witnesses to greatness.” In this fourth volume of Timmy Failure’s memoirs, Timmy is forced to hit the road in a cross-country trip that includes Timmy’s mom, Total the polar bear, Doorman Dave, and smells-like-a-tangerine criminal mastermind Molly Moskins. It’s a world gone mad, where good becomes bad, and Timmy Failure is a condemned man. Someone call the authorities…

Cartoonist Stephan Pastis speaks at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2:30 PM!

Stephan Pastis is a hilarious American cartoonist. He began his career as an attorney, but decided to try his hand at cartooning. The result was Pearls Before Swine, which at its heart is about two friends: an arrogant Rat who thinks he knows it all and a slow-witted Pig who doesn’t know any better. In 2013, inspired to break out of the box of a daily comic strip, Pastis took on the new challenge of becoming a children’s author, penning the first book in a middle grade series called Timmy Failure, about an inept kid detective and his sidekick polar bear.

Stick around after the lecture for a lemonade reception and book signing in the Library. Stephan’s books will be available for sale before and after the lecture from Mystery Lovers Bookshop.
