The Creatures, Droids & Aliens of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Take a deep dive into the Pinewood Studios-based Star Wars creature shop, where Creative Supervisor Neal Scanlan and team designed and built every alien, beast and droid from Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Step-by-step, the process of crafting amazing creatures and droids like Maz Kanata, BB-8, the luggabeast, Unkar Plutt and Supreme Leader Snoke will be explored; from design and sculpting, to fabrication and animatronics, to painting and puppeteering. The panel will culminate in a live demo of one of the creature shop’s incredible Star Wars characters!

Billy Dee Williams Appears at Star Wars Celebration 2015

Well hello, what have we here? Actor Billy Dee Williams will be appearing at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim next month. The actor who portrayed Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will be greeting fans and signing autographs in the Celebration Autograph Hall presented by Official Pix, and is also scheduled for the Celebration stage with host James Arnold Taylor.

Hollywood icon Billy Dee Williams was an exceptional addition to the cast of heroes in the Star Wars universe, backed by his powerful performance opposite Diana Ross in the films Mahogany and Lady Sings the Blues. Appearing in both Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Williams brought the iconic character Lando Calrissian to life on the big screen.

Williams’ career includes roles in the films Undercover Brother, Nighthawks, Bingo Long, Batman, and Bryan’s Song. He’s been nominated for the Emmy and Independent Spirit Awards, and been presented the TV Land and Image Awards for his performances. In the world of television Williams has appeared on Dynasty, Lost, NCIS, Night Shift, and GLEE to name just a few. He has voiced Lando Calrissian in video games, television specials, and in Star Wars: Rebels.

An accomplished artist and author, Williams has been nominated for a Guggenheim Award and won an Hallgarten Award, an honor in the art world.

Star Wars Rebels Premieres Season 2 at Celebration

This April, attendees of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will witness the global  premiere of Star Wars Rebels season two, which continues the epic adventures of the crew of the Ghost and further reveals the early days of the rebellion against the Empire.  Fans will be the first to see the first episode of season two following an encore screening of the series’ two-part season one finale.

At Celebration, there will also be a special Star Wars Rebels panel featuring members of the cast and crew from the Disney XD animated series. Dave Filoni (Executive Producer, Supervising Director), Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Kanan), Vanessa Marshall (Hera), Tiya Sircar (Sabine), Steve Blum (Zeb), Taylor Gray (Ezra) and other special guests will discuss the startling season one finale and offer exclusive sneak peeks of what’s to come in season two.

Star Wars Celebration V is proud to present The Main Event — a live, on-stage interview with Saga creator George Lucas hosted by The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart. The hour-long, candid conversation will spark a discourse sure to shed light on the storied history of the Star Wars Saga — from its past to its future, with insider insights about the many steps along the way. A self-proclaimed lover of Lucas’ “galaxy far, far away,” Stewart brings a fan sensibility to the interview, aiming to focus on areas of interest to the many diverse and devoted groups that have helped Star Wars endure for more than thirty years. In addition to the dialogue between Lucas and Stewart, fan questions can be submitted, too!
