Plastic City Comic Con holds their inaugural event for comics, toys and pop culture fans in North Central Massachusetts on Saturday July 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Leominster Veterans Memorial Center. Jam packed with comic artists, writers, creators, and vendors! FREE ADMISSION! Guests include:
- Paul Kupperberg: Former editor of DC Comics and Weekly World News. Writer of Supergirl, Green Lantern, and Archie.
- Joe Caramagna: Writer of Ultimate Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers Assemble. Creator of Further Adventures of Wyatt Earp.
- Veronica Fish: Artist for the New Archie Series, Pirates of Mars, and The Wendy Project.
- Andy Fish: Artist and Writer for several books including How to Draw Graphic Novels, Dracula’s Army, and Geeks and Greeks.
- Joe St. Pierre: Artist for Spider-Man, Venom, Batman, Deadpool, and Transformers. He is also the creator of the New Zodiax.
- Sean Wang: Artist for the Tick and Meltdown for Image Comics. He is also the creator of his hit Sci-Fi series Runners.
- Rich Woodall: Writer of Kyrra Alien Jungle Girl for Dark Horse. Artist for the Zombie Bomb! Comic Anthology and creator of Johnny Raygun.

They will also also have free comics that include all-ages offerings like Sonic, Adventure Time, Ultimate Spider-Man Itty-Bitty Hellboy, Batman L’il Gotham, a Cartoon Network sampler of Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Ben 10. Plus more grown-up fare like a free sampler of horror manga master Junji Ito (a management favorite), a sample chapter of Batman: The Long Halloween and the debut of Avatar’s new dark modern fantasy Disenchanted!

Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo hosts its first two-day show on September 28-29, 2013 at in Porter Square, Cambridge, MA! The event is a joint project between the Boston Comics Roundtable, an independent arts collective, and the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University; MICE puts a focus on the art of making comics and connects local creators with local audience. They will also run a number of workshops for children and adults, as well as panel discussions on the craft and relevance of the comics form. MICE is for anyone of any age who wants to discover new comics, learn more about the medium of comics, or is interested in making their own. Sunday is Kids Day, featuring workshops for the young cartoonist.
MICE 2013 is pleased to welcome eight comic creators to our show as our special guests: Chris Duffy, George O’Connor, Josh Neufeld, Lucy Knisley, Maris Wicks, Mike Cavallaro, Nick Abadzis, and R. Sikoryak. They will appear at their tables in the exhibition area, as well as at various panels and workshops over the weekend.
Plus MICE features 150 exhibitors including Alison Wilgus, Bob Flynn, Braden Lamb, Cathy Leamy, Colleen AF Venable, David Marshall, E. J. Today the Boston Comic Con is happy to announce that WALT & LOUISE SIMONSON are joining us at the Back Bay Events Center on October 24-25, 2009! Walt is no stranger to New England having studied geology at Amherst College and then transferred to the Rhode Island School of Design where he created the comic Star Slammers as his senior thesis. Walt is best known for his groundbreaking work on The Mighty Thor where he created the alien warrior Beta Ray Bill. His artwork has also graced the pages of Star Wars, Fantastic Four, Detective Comics, and X-Factor which he co-created with Louise. Walt is well-renowned for his writing and participated in this summer’s Wednesday Comics project in which he penned the Catwoman strip.
Louise “Weezie” Simonson began her career in comics on the editorial side at Warren Publishing and later Marvel where she made the switch to writing full-time. She has scripted many titles including New Mutants, Superman: Man of Steel, and Magnus Robot Fighter, and co-created popular characters like Steel, Cable, and Apocalypse. Louise also has to her credit the creation of the superhero teams Power Pack with artist June Brigman and X-Factor with her husband Walt.
