Meltdown Comics is proud to announce our Midnight Release party for Flashpoint #5 and Justice League #1, the starting point for the NEW DC Universe.

In addition to getting your copies before anyone else, you’ll be treated to awesome comics-related comedy by Tom Franck of Comics and Comics, who will also interview two of the New DCU Architects: Scott Lobdell (Teen Titans, Superboy, Red Hood & The Outsiders) and Kyle Higgins (Nightwing, Deathstroke).

All Attendees are invited to compete in our cosplay contest, with first prize being a complete set of all 52 #1 issues DC is releasing in September!

The fun starts at 11 PM on Tuesday, August 30 (*Flashpoint #5 & Justice League #1 go on sale at 12:01 AM Wednesday August 31st) – don’t miss it!

Baltimore, MD June 29, 2009 – Long Beach Comic Con (LBCC), October 2-4, 2009, at the Long Beach Convention Center in downtown Long Beach, California has confirmed an all-star slate of comic writers, creators and artists as well as a wide array of mass media celebrities to its growing list of previously announced exhibitors. Special guests include television and comic icon Jeph Loeb along with DC Comics legend Geoff Johns. LBCC invites fans to come out and get a chance to meet the industry’s best and brightest.

Celebrity figures scheduled to appear include Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk) Martin Klebba (The Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy); Rob Van Dam, (Former WWE / ECW Superstar); Christy Hemme (TNA Wrestling Diva); Darcy DeMoss (Friday the 13th VI & VII); Meredith Salenger (Race to Witch Mountain); Luciana Carro (Battlestar Galactica); Herb Jefferson Jr. (Battlestar Galactica); Brande Roderick (Celebrity Apprentice, 2001 Playmate of the Year); Sandra Taylor (Under Siege 2, Batman & Robin, Playboy Model); Ami Dolenz (Witchboard 2: The Devils Doorway, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings); Mia St. John (Current WBC Int’l Boxing Champion); and from the “Who Wants To Be A Superhero?” TV Series, Feedback, Fat Momma, Ms. Limelight and Hygena.

October 2-4, 2009 at the Long Beach Convention Center (LBCC) in downtown Long Beach. The convention will feature the industry’s best and brightest comic book talent, publishers, gaming companies, mass-media guests and must-attend programming sessions.

In a show of support for this brand new convention Marvel has already pledged a limited edition incentive book which will be offered exclusively for show attendees who pre-order tickets. Lionsgate Films (SAW VI & Daybreakers) will be exhibiting on the show floor as well as comic publisher Aspen.

“The facility and staff at the LBCC are awesome, and the fans in the area that I had the privilege to meet at previous comic cons left a strong impression on me as well as on the guests and exhibitors. We’re excited to be coming back in October,” said event planner Martha Donato, President of MAD Event Management.

Currently scheduled to exhibit on the show floor are Aspen Entertainment, CGC, and Fourth Dimension Entertainment. New exhibitors are signing up every day. Further announcements will be made with updated exhibitors.
