Matt Silady, an Eisner-nominated cartoonist and Chair of California College of the Arts MFA in Comics program, appears at the Schulz Museum on Saturday, March 12th at 1:00 PM. In June of 2007, Silady published his first graphic novel, The Homeless Channel, which was nominated for an Eisner award. Recent projects include serving as Guest Editor of the SF Weekly Comics Issue and the launch of the inaugural San Francisco Comics Festival.

CA – Gumby’s Gang Signing

Cartoonists Michael Aushenker and Rafael Navarro, who worked together on the recent Gumby’s Gang Starring Pokey comic books, appear at the Charles M. Schulz Museum on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.

Aushenker’s own work includes Greenblatt The Great and El Gato: Crime Mangler. He has also written Bart Simpson comics and is the author of the best-selling children’s book Get That Goat! Navarro has earned an Emmy for his work as an animation storyboard artist and is the creator of the Xeric Award-winning comic Sonambulo.

Schulz Museum on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM! Director Steve Martino, Producer Michael Travers, Animation Supervisor Nick Bruno, Vice President of Fox Animation Ralph Millero, and Co-head of Story Karen Disher, will share the challenges and creative process of bringing Charles Schulz’s classic comic strip to the big screen for 21st century audiences.

CA – Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales Signing

Cartoonist Nathan Hale appears at the Schulz Museum on Sunday June 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM to talk about his work and share an exclusive and hazardous tale from his graphic novel series Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales. Hale is the illustrator of the graphic novel Rapunzel’s Revenge, which was an Al Roker Book Club for Kids selection, an ALA Notable Book, and a YALSA Great Graphic Novel for Teens. Hale will sign books after his talk.

CA – Second Saturday Artist

Dowling

Cartoonist Lela Dowling appears at the Charles M. Schulz Museum on Saturday March 14, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 PM! Her work appears in our current exhibition Peanuts in Wonderland. Dowling has worked in comics for Eclipse and Marvel, done book illustration, cartooning for Bee Culture magazine and award winning editorial cartoons for The Novato Advance newspaper. She has also done 2D animation for LucasArts’ Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max Hit the Road games, character design for Big Ape Entertainment’s Celebrity Death Match game, and avatar design for Yahoo!’s instant messaging service, among other things.
