Norwalk, CT, April 12, 2010: C2E2, Lionsgate, and IGN will jointly present the Chicago premiere of Kick-Ass on Thursday, April 15. This red carpet event will feature appearances by and a Q&A with Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl), and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist).
Tickets to the Chicago Kick-Ass premiere are no longer available, but the three cast members are then all coming to C2E2 on Friday to meet fans and sign autographs!

Launched in 2008 and owned and operated by local event planner PI Events, STGCC is a strategic fit for Reed Exhibitions, which has an existing office in Singapore, and which has consolidated a team of professionals in its North American office to work exclusively on pop culture events. The new pop culture team will work closely with the Reed Exhibitions Singapore staff as well as maintain a strategic partnership with PI Events to stage a preeminent event in the Asian market which fits with other events in the Reed pop culture portfolio, including New York Comic Con (NYCC) and the soon to be launched Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2). The new pop culture show is set to launch at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, April 16 -18, 2010 and the women who will be participating in various appearances and activities are the best in their field and they represent the convention’s overall goal to focus on top notch talent. The new guests who will be appearing at C2E2 include award-winning and critically acclaimed writer Gail Simone, and renowned illustrators Amanda Conner and Colleen Doran. These creators join previously announced female creator Jill Thompson. All the women who will be featured guests at C2E2 are accomplished artists who have wide and loyal audiences.

Amanda Conner: Amanda Conner started out working as an illustrator for New York ad agencies Kornhauser and Calene and Kidvertisers. She worked on a number of launches and campaigns including Arm and Hammer, PlaySchool and Nickelodeon; however, loving comic books and cartooning the most, Amanda found herself working with Marvel on their Barbie and Disney lines. At the same time, she was illustrating Soul Searchers & Co. for Claypool Comics and was soon working on other Marvel projects, such as Excalibur and Suburban Jersey Ninja She-Devils. Amanda then moved on to do what is probably her best known work — several years as penciler on the hit series Vampirella for Harris Comics. While illustrating Vampirella, Amanda worked with the top writers in the field, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and Warren Ellis. Continuing to expand her horizons, Amanda illustrated the best-selling Event Comic Painkiller Jane vs. The Darkness and went on to work on Painkiller Jane #0. She also wrote and illustrated a story for Kid Death and Fluffy. Since then, Amanda has moved on and has worked on many of the top titles in comics such as Lois Lane, Codename: Knockout, Terra and Birds of Prey for DC, X-Men Unlimited for Marvel, co-created Gatecrasher for BlackBull Comics, and The Pro, a creator-owned book for Image with Jimmy Palmiotti and Garth Ennis. Amanda’s work can also be seen outside the comic book world in such places as ABC’s Nightline, The New York Times, and Mad Magazine. Katie Cook: Katie Cook is a popular artist among Star Wars fans. Her work can be seen in many Topps Star Wars Trading Card sets, Star Wars how-to-draw tutorials, and webcomics for The Clone Wars on starwars.com. Colleen Doran: Colleen Doran is an illustrator with hundreds of credits for clients including Lucasfilm, The Walt Disney Company, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, DC Comics, Reader’s Digest, Scholastic, and many more. She was artist in residence at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC where she lectured on Hokusai and ukiyo-e prints and their relation to pop culture and manga. She has also lectured on graphic novels in arenas as diverse as the Singapore Writers Festival and the American Library Association. Further, she has illustrated the work of Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice, and Clive Barker. Currently, she is working on two original graphic novels for Vertigo, one by Warren Ellis called Stealth Tribes, and another by the Eisner-nominee Derek McCulloch entitled Gone to Amerikay. She is also artist for an upcoming original graphic novel for publisher Houghton Mifflin with best-selling novelist Barry Lyga. Lora Innes: Lora Innes’s first solo work, The Dreamer, was published by IDW Publishing as a six issue mini-series, then collected as a graphic novel. Meet and Greet the C2E2 & NYCC Teams at Comic Shops in New York and Chicago
Norwalk, CT, December 8, 2009: Organizers of the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) and New York Comic Con (NYCC) have announced that they will be hitting the road this month to visit comic book retailers and fans in Chicago and New York to spread holiday cheer. The staff of C2E2 & NYCC will be taking to the streets, meeting, greeting, and giving away presents to fans at comic shops all month long. The tour begins in New York City tomorrow – Wednesday, December 9th – and will extend through Wednesday, December 23rd. Officials note that one big reason for the trip – aside from giving away presents – is to meet with fans in order to hear their ideas and to find out what fans want to see in 2010.
“We want to reach out to our community of supporters as much as possible to get the pulse of who and what they want to see at C2E2 and NYCC in 2010,” notes Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President and Show Manager for both C2E2 and NYCC. “At the same time, we want to have some fun, give out some presents, as well as spread the word about C2E2 and NYCC. This is a great way of accomplishing all these goals! We are looking forward to a great road trip.”
Staff officials note that the full C2E2 and NYCC teams will be participating in the events, with Show Manager Lance Fensterman joined by various faces from programming, marketing, and sales. Every stop will have different team members in attendance. In both New York and Chicago, the staff members will be giving away movies, posters, and soundtracks from Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing, as well as raffling off toys from Diamond Select and Mezco. Of course, it wouldn’t be the holidays without candy canes and assorted stocking stuffers, which NYCC and C2E2 staff will be handing out at all their stops. Additionally, in Chicago, the shops the staff will visit will be the very first place to get physical C2E2 tickets and limited edition C2E2 Alex Ross posters. A twitter scavenger hunt will be organized through downtown Chicago, and the staff will also be raffling off a C2E2 VIP package.

(BALTIMORE, MD) – (December 4, 2009) – After successful events in Baltimore, MD; Ft. Wayne, IN; Las Vegas, NV and elsewhere, Diamond “takes the show on the road” to the Windy City when a new version of the Diamond Retailer Summit berths at one of the industry’s most anticipated events: C2E2, a.k.a. the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.
“After a great show in Las Vegas in 2008 and in Baltimore 2009, we recognize the need to bring the Summit and its retailer programming to other parts of the country,” said Diamond’s VP-Marketing, Roger Fletcher. “This allows us to see more of our retailer accounts and interact with them on a professional level. Retailers will also enjoy complimentary admission to the Professional Only Preview of the C2E2 Show on Friday, April 16 from 10am to 1pm and will receive a valuable “coupon book” good for limited edition items, raffles, and sales-all redeemable by visiting select suppliers on the show floor.
C2E2, which will run from April 16 – 18 at McCormick Place Convention Center on the shore of Lake Michigan, will be structured in the spirit of New York Comic Con (NYCC), the fastest growing pop culture event in the U.S. NYCC is also organized by Reed Exhibitions.

ComicsPRO Annual Meeting (March 25-27, 2010)-An annual sponsor, Diamond will be on hand to meet retailers and present to the retailer members of ComicsPRO.
Baltimore Comic-Con (August 28-29, 2010)-Diamond will host a Retailer Breakfast and will be on the show floor with its PREVIEWSworld booth.
San Diego Comic-Con (July 22-25, 2010)-Diamond will be set up with its PREVIEWSworld booth as well as host a trade only retailer event during the show.
Alliance Open House (October 8-9, 2010)-Diamond’s sister company, Alliance Game Distributors, will hold its Traditional Open House event for game shop specialty retailers at the Grand Wayne Center in Ft Wayne, IN.
New York Comic-Con (October 8 – 10, 2010)-Diamond’s annual Retailer Breakfast will kick off the show before the opening of the professional hours. Diamond will also be exhibiting with its PREVIEWSworld booth during the show.
