Oni Press Schedule at Emerald City Comicon 2013

Emerald City Comic-Con 2013 is upon us once again and Oni Press all sorts of attractions and goodies to delight any comics reader. What kind of goodies, you ask? How does an ECCC 2013 exclusive variant cover of Helheim #1 by the talented Chuck BB sound? Maybe, the Scott Pilgrim V2 Collector’s Edition is more your style. That will be there too! Also, don’t miss your chance to purchase the recently released all-ages titles Mermin, Glitter Kiss and Sketch Monsters V2.

That’s not all! Stop by panel room 3AB, SATURDAY AT 6pm, for the RevolutiONIze Comics Panel. Join Oni Press Editor in Chief James Lucas Jones as he presents a whirlwind of talented creators, sneak previews, and the announcement of a new floppy series! This interactive panel will have some of the hottest names in comics right before your eyes, discussing their books and answering audience questions. Creators in attendance: Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun, Helheim), Brian Hurtt (The Sixth Gun, The Damned), Joëlle Jones (Helheim, You Have Killed Me) and Charles Soule (Strongman, Strange Attractors). Anthony Del Col is the co-creator and writer of the IDW hit “Kill Shakespeare” which as has received huge accolades and is the 2010 recipient of the Pitch This film prize! Anthony has also worked in the music, film and television industries, produced two independent feature films and most recently assisted with the management of international pop star Nelly Furtado and her world tour.
 
Ray Fawkes is a Toronto-based fine artist and writer of graphic novels, prose fiction, and games. Ray’s work ranges in styles from introspective, dreamscape horror to bombastic slapstick. He is a two-time Shuster Award nominee in the “Outstanding Canadian Writer” category, and “Possessions Book One: Unclean Getaway” has been nominated for a YALSA award by the American Library Association.
 
Omar Dogan is a senior Illustrator at UDON Entertainment and has worked with major companies Capcom, Konami, Marvel, and many more. Over the last decade he has worked on the Sakura, Chun Li, and Ibuki Legends series as well as many game related properties and titles. He is now a professor a Seneca College teaching digital colouring in the Animation program. Soon to be announced is an artbook featuring Omar’s latest artwork which has been a labour of 1 year. This book will have well over 70 pieces of original art in full colour and will expose his learning process and technique. 
 
Jim Zubkavich is a comic writer and artist who has worked for a diverse array of publishing, movie and video game clients through the UDON studio, including Marvel, Warner Bros., Capcom, Hasbro, Mattel and Bizzard Entertainment. He is also a Professor at Seneca College, teaching a variety of art and animation courses. Jim’s latest project is a creator-owned sword and sorcery comedy series being published by Image Comics called Skullkickers. The first Skullkickers trade paperback arrived in stores in early March and has received rave reviews from outlets like USA Today, MTV and Ain’t It Cool News.

Comic con season kicks off this again this weekend in Seattle, and you can find Ron and Conor at the Emerald City Comicon on March 4-6.

iFanboy has hit Emerald City for the last three years and we’ve had so much fun that we wouldn’t miss it this year!  The talent lineup for this show is absurdly good, since so much of the comic community calls the Pacific Northwest home.  As always, if you’re on the convention floor, walk up, say hi, get to know us!

We’re excited, and we hope you’re excited too!  We’ll be shooting lots of video in both places for those of you stuck in the rest of the world, because we can’t leave you out!

All art created will be donated to Emerald City Comicon’s Saturday Night art auction, and all proceeds go the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Come help support art for a good cause, and watch artists do what they do best in a fantastic environment.
