Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein sign at Powell’s Books on Sunday, March 16th at noon!
Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s The Portlandia Activity Book (McSweeney’s) is a compendium of guaranteed enrichment for the Pacific Northwestern part of your psyche — based on their satirical sketch comedy series. Like a cool high school that prefers a sweat lodge to the traditional classroom, this book will expand your mind through participation, dehydrate you to a state of emotional rawness, and linger in the corners of your bare soul.
Please note: this is a booksigning only.

Fred Armisen signs at J&R Music on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at 12:30 PM!
Fred Armisen, co-creator, co-writer and co-star of Portlandia, is also in his ninth season on Saturday Night Live. On SNL, Armisen took on the role of then Democratic Presidential nominee and now U.S. President, Sen. Barack Obama, as well as New York Governor David Paterson. Other characters include the vaguely European home design enthusiast “Nuni,” the Native American comic Billy Smith, the political comedian Nicholas Fehn, and Prince, the often-silent host of the musician’s talk show, “The Prince Show.” Armisen has also contributed memorable impressions of Muammar Gaddafi, Queen Elizabeth, Steve Jobs, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the popular Digital Short “Iran So Far Away.”
Armisen has landed on Rolling Stone’s “Hot List” as well as twice on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” (for his performance as a politically incorrect deaf comedian and his witty iTunes playlist). He recently appeared in the feature films Easy A opposite Emma Stone, Confessions of a Shopaholic opposite Isla Fisher, The Rocker opposite Rainn Wilson and The Promotion with John C. Reilly. He has also appeared in the films Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny with Jack Black, The Ex with Zach Braff and Jason Bateman, as well as Eurotrip, and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

IFC’s hit comedy series, Portlandia and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret will make their first ever New York Comic Con appearances for two back-to-back panels on Sunday, October 16th starting at 11:00am.
Portlandia’s creators, writers and stars, Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live), Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater-Kinney) and Jonathan Krisel (Saturday Night Live, Tim and Eric Awesome Show) will appear to discuss the show’s highly anticipated second season and take questions from the audience. They will also unveil a special sneak peek from season two. The panel will be moderated by actor and comedian Seth Meyers (Saturday Night Live). Portlandia is set to make its return to IFC in January 2012 with a slew of new characters and notable guest stars along with some of last season’s favorite residents.
Creator, writer and star of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, David Cross (Arrested Development, Mr. Show) will be at New York Comic Con to tell fans about the second season of this raucous misadventure. The conversation will be moderated by actor and comedian H. Jon Benjamin (Archer, Jon Benjamin Has a Van). Todd Margaret, played by Cross, is a corporate nobody who bluffs his way into a position heading up the London office for the new energy drink Thunder Muscle, and manages to get himself into increasingly outlandish and dire situations along the way. The show also stars Will Arnett (Up All Night, Arrested Development), Sharon Horgan (Pulling), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) and this season Jon Hamm (Mad Men) guest stars.
