Cartoonist Danielle Corsetto appears at New Dimension Comics on Saturday, July 5th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm!
Danielle Corsetto is the creator of the webcomic Girls With Slingshots, which turns ten years old this year. To celebrate, she’s visiting GWS fans across the country, stopping at 20+ cities and covering over 9,000 miles over the course of 40 days.
Girls With Slingshots is the story of twenty-something BFFs Jamie and Hazel, and an expansive cast of their friends, including a talking cactus and a ghost cat (among other oddities). The dramedy revolves around topics of love, booze, sex, relationships, careers, living with your parents, and the worthlessness of an English degree. It updates five days a week in full color at www.girlswithslingshots.com.
Corsetto has also written two Adventure Time OGNs (with another on the way) published by BOOM! Studios, and created the strip “The New Adventures of Bat Boy” for the Weekly World News. She lives in the charming town of Shepherdstown, West Virginia with two cats and a rotating cast of vagrant friends in a big 18th century house filled with houseplants and loose tea.

New Dimension Comics Opens 5th Store inside Pittsburgh Mills Mall.
Grand Opening Offers $10,000 Worth of Comics FREE.
On April 30th, the 5th location of New Dimension Comics will host it’s grand opening at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills in Tarentum, PA where they will hold a raffle each hour for a free box full of comic books with a retail value of nearly $1000 each.
This will be New Dimension Comics’ largest store at 5500 square feet. Other events planned to celebrate the opening include many extra raffle prizes including statues, signed comics, rare variant comics, posters, shirts, and more. Pittsburgh Steel Man will make a special appearance from 1-3. The Steel City Ghostbusters will also be on hand for photos.
“I wanted to do something crazy for the grand opening of our 5th store”, says owner Todd McDevitt. “I thought every fan would be thrilled to get a full, stuffed box full of comic books. When you add them all up, it comes to about $1000 worth. The crazy part is that we will start having that raffle EVERY HOUR beginning at 11:00. With 11 drawings during the day, that means over $10,000 in comics will be given away!” The store will be open from 10-9 and winners must be 18 years of age or older or a parent can claim the prize. Winners must be present to win.
