    Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh Added To Largest Pop Culture Convention Schedule, September 11-13, 2015

    Company Acquires Event at David L. Lawrence Convention Center from Founder Renee George; 25 Shows Now On 2015 Calendar

    PITTSBURGH, January 20, 2015 – Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) today announced the addition of Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh to its 2015 schedule, bringing the current number of events during the year to 25. Wizard World acquired the event, set for September 11-13 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, an SMG managed facility, from founder and longtime owner Renee George.

    Celebrity and comics creator guests and other details about the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

    “We are excited to have acquired the long-standing and popular Pittsburgh Comicon from Renee,” said John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO. “We are excited to inject the Wizard World flavor in the Pittsburgh market, a city we’ve been wanting to expand to for many years. We are looking forward to seeing all our fans in September!”

    “I am pleased that Wizard World will be able to continue the two-decade tradition of our show,” said George. “It’s a great opportunity for all of our loyal attendees in the area to take part in an even bigger event with more of what they have enjoyed for many years.”

    “You will see the Pittsburgh Comicon Staff at the David Lawrence Center bringing our family friendly atmosphere to downtown Pittsburgh,” added George. “Our family and friends will continue to run the charity events, including Charity Quick Sketch & the Make-A-Wish Auction. All current contracts between the Pittsburgh Comicon & exhibitors or artists will be honored at this show.     With the addition of Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh, the largest-ever schedule of pop culture conventions will include at least 11 new events in 10 new venues. Longstanding events in Philadelphia and Chicago are among the 14 returning shows from last year.

    Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, cosplay, comics, television, sci-fi, toys, video gaming, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more. Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh show hours are Friday, Sept. 11, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

    Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor.

    George Pérez’s Sirens Signing Tour

Studios is excited to announce that comics’ legend George Pérez will be embarking on his first nationwide signing tour to promote his new original series, George Pérez’s Sirens. Pérez will be visiting six different comic shops and three conventions in seven states across the country to meet fans and sign copies of his first original comic book series in over a decade. Appearing alongside the luminary creator at several of the events will be the real-life friends and fans who inspired the Sirens themselves.

    As an intergalactic force enslaves planets across the galaxy, the legendary team known only as the Sirens must reunite to save the galaxy—but is that even possible when the Sirens themselves don’t even remember who they are? And the rest of the universe only remembers them as…villains?     Pittsburgh Comicon 2011 Brings Being Human to the ‘Burgh

    Hello Folks,

    We have some exciting goings on here at Comicon Central. The first of which I am announcing today is that….
    Being Human is coming to the Burgh!!

    Stars of the hit SyFy series, Being Human,
    SAM WITWER (Aidan-Being Human, Davis Bloom/Doomsday-Smallville, Crashdown-Battlestar Galactica, Neil Perry-Dexter) and
    SARAH ALLEN (Rebecca-Being Human) will be appearing in Pittsburgh all 3 days of the show.

    Being Human which debuted in December on the SyFy Channel revolves around three roommates living in Boston who appear to have normal lives despite being a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf. Witwer leads the cast as the Vampire-Aidan. Aidan is a melancholic 250-odd year old vampire who works as a nurse in a Boston Hospital. Allen portrays Aidan’s ex-girlfriend, Rebecca Flynt whom he drained of blood in a moment of weakness. She is revived as a vampire and now hates her former love. The series had the largest audience for a SyFy premiere since 2005.

    The pair will be signing autographs all weekend and there will be a Being Human Q & A Saturday at 2:00 PM;
    (plus keeping watching for details about a Meet and Greet with the stars.)

    While we’re talking about Media Guests, we also just recently added from The SyFy Channel’s Reality Show FaceOff, contestant and Savini School Graduate, Jessica Kramer to the guest list.

    And if you are a fan of the martial arts genre, Bruce Lee co-star from Enter the Dragon, Way of the Dragon and Game of Death,
    Bob Wall will be making his first appearance in the Burgh.

    For Immediate Release (September 3, 2009) Stan Lee has graciously agreed to do a limited meet-and-greet with a few select fans at the Pittsburgh Comicon!

    The event will take place at the Pittsburgh Comicon on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 at 9:15 AM! There are only SIX availabilities! Each of six winners will be escorted by duly authorized Hero Initiative personnel, where they’ll meet Stan the Man the con’s double-swanky VIP Green Room! You can get a picture with Stan, and you’ll also be able to get TWO Stan Lee autographs at this event on YOUR items of YOUR choice!
