NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA, June 2, 2011 – Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con today announced its diverse programming schedule, featuring unique celebrity Q&A’s, music, film screenings and discussions, artist schools, contests and more for the event, set for Friday through Sunday, June 17-19 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Some of the highlights include:
- “Buffyfests” with “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer” stars Nicholas Brendon, Kelly Donovan, Mercedes McNab and Clare Kramer
- “Green Lantern” franchise discussions with featured creators like Ethan Van Sciver, Carlos Pacheco, Shane Davies, Todd Klein and others

Unless noted, Philadelphia Comic Con programming will take place in the designated panel rooms at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and is included with admission to the event. Philadelphia Comic Con is the sixth stop on Wizard World’s 2011 North American tour. Hours are Friday, June 17, noon – 8 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets are available in advance online at http://www.wizardworld.com/philadelphia.html at a savings over tickets purchased at the door. Advance adult single-day tickets are priced at $25 ($35 on site); three-day weekend tickets are $45 ($55 on site), and tickets are free for children age 10 and under when accompanied by a paid adult (limit two children per adult). The comic book convention is held at the Ramada Philadelphia Airport located at 76 Industrial Highway (Route 291) in Essington, PA 19029. The hotel is conveniently located between exits 8 and 9A off of I-95. It is also close to I-76, I-476 and most bridges from New Jersey. Show hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is only $3 per person. Students of any age are admitted free with a current id. Also admitted free are active military personnel and their families. Parking is also free on premises. For those of you that do not drive, Septa Bus Route 37 stops directly in front of the hotel.
It is quite a site to behold with 60 tables at the show in the 4,500 square foot ballroom of the hotel. Dealers from 6 states setup there selling, buying and even trading with collectors. Thousands and thousands of comic books from the 1940′s to present day will be for sale at the show. Also available will be collecting supplies, graphic novels, action figures, statues, non-sportcards, dvd’s and original artwork. The show has become a fan favorite for years with people travelling up to 3 hours just to shop at the show.
Special guest publisher this show is Zenescope Entertainment. A locally based outfit in Fort Washington, PA they have found international success with their comic books. Best known for “Grimm Fairy Tales” a modern take on old legends and “Charmed” which continues the adventures of the Halliwell sisters (Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs) from the now defunct tv show. They are producing a very limited edition variant cover comic book available for purchase at the show. This will be a special Philadelphia Comic-Con cover for Grimm Fairy Tales # 59 different then what would be found in your local comic shop. Only 250 copies are being produced making this one of the most limited modern day comic books in existence.

Louis is a New Jersey native now located in North Carolina. He is taking the drive all the way from there just to meet with his local fans. Dawn is a Havertown, PA resident who is doing her own webcomic nowadays along with still writing her celebrated childrens book series. Dawn will be selling her books and also taking commissions for sketches. Ultimate Comics Group is taking the ride from their Jersey Shore base and will be selling their own books “Stormblazer”, “MetaPatriot”, and “Stiletto.” Publisher John B. Lai will be inhouse and promises to bring along a creator or two from his company.

Two time Harvey Award winner comes to Philly
We are pleased to announce the return of the Philadelphia Comic-Con on Sunday, December 12th. Special guest this show will be 2 time Harvey Award winner Bryan J.L. Glass.
Bryan is currently writing titles for Marvel Comics including “Thor.” He is also the co-creator of the award winning “Mice Templar” by Image Comics. Volume 3 of the hardcover edition of “Mice Templar” will be making its national debut at our show.

Gareb Shamus Announces Dates For 2011 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con
Event To Return to Pennsylvania Convention Center June 10-11-12, 2011
NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA, June 13, 2010 – In the midst of an overwhelmingly successful 2010 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, Wizard Entertainment CEO Gareb Shamus today announced that the event will return to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, June 10-12, 2011.
This year’s event, which concluded on Sunday, featured stars Patrick Stewart, Adam West, Bruce Campbell, James Marsters, Linda Hamilton and more than 150 celebrities, comic artists and writers. The 10th Philadelphia Comic Con brought together fans of pop culture, comics, toys and collectibles and offered a chance to see the best each industry has to offer.
“We were blown away by the response to our 10th Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con this weekend,” said Shamus. “The crowds and the general excitement for the event were way up, and we plan on expanding our list of guests, artists and vendors even more in 2011.”

Zenescope Hosts 5th Birthday Party/Masquerade Ball with Philadelphia Comic Con

Zenescope Entertainment To Hold Birthday Bash & Masquerade Ball @ Wizard World Philadelphia Comic ConComic book and graphic novel publisher Zenescope Entertainment will host it’s 5th Birthday party as a Masquerade Ball on Saturday, June 12, at 8 p.m. as part of the evening programming during Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con. The Ball will be held at the Field House at 1150 Filbert Street Center. Admission is free, and is limited to patrons 21 and over.
Zenescope staff and guests, along with Wizard Magazine, ToyFare Magazine and Wizard World personnel will mingle with attendees. The first 50 people to show up in costume will get a swag bag full of exclusives and other items. Costumes, while encouraged, are not required for admission.
The night will also be filled with DJ and dancing, drink specials, celebrity appearances, crazy contests and the crowning of the “King and Queen of the Con.” The event is sponsored by Carr Miller Entertainment, Zenescope Entertainment, Shocker Toys, The Suicide Girls, Bad Kids Go To Hell and Wizard Entertainment.
The 10th Annual Philadelphia Comic Con is set for June 11-13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
