Simon Pegg appears for a signing Presented by Forbidden Planet and Strand
Hosted at the Strand Monday, June 13: 7:00PM – 8:00PM
Best known for his cult hits Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced, his portrayal of Scotty in the 2009 Star Trek film and the recent Paul, Simon Pegg is an actor, comedian, writer and self-proclaimed super geek. In his new memoir, Nerd Do Well: A Small Boy’s Journey to Becoming A Big Kid, Pegg brings his fans back with him to his childhood in England, recounting tales of running into brick walls, discovering Star Wars, Star Trek and comic books and ultimately leads readers through his life to the making of his hit films. Pegg’s memoir is a who’s-who of pop culture references, film history, and witty anecdotes about being a kid in the 70s and proves that Pegg is, indeed, a super geek of the highest order.
Please note: seating will begin at 6pm. Seating is first come, first served.

NICK FROST & JOE CORNISH promote their film Attack The Block at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Thursday 12th May from 5:20 – 6pm.
Attack the Block – an urban gang versus a wave of invading aliens. Trainee nurse Sam is saved from a street gang when they’re distracted by a meteorite – and then attacked by an undersized alien. The gang chase the creature and kill it, dragging its ghoulish carcass to the top of a nearby tower block.
While police hunt for the gang, a second wave of meteors falls. The gang grabs weapons, mounts bikes and sets out to defend their turf. But this time, the creatures are bigger. Savage, shadowy and bestial, nothing will stand in their way. The estate is about to become a battleground. And the bunch of no-hope kids who just attacked Sam are about to become her, and the block’s, only hope.
Best known for the role of Mike Watt in Spaced, Nick Frost has also worked with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul.
Joe Cornish, half of the Adam and Joe Show, is a comedian who’s directorial work has included the pilots of Modern Toss and Blunder. Attack the Block is his film debut.
Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and director Greg Mottola speak on a panel moderated by USA Today’s Whitney Matheson on Monday March 7, 2011 at 6 p.m.
