Comments Off on NYC – The Best of Archie Signing
Nancy Silberkleit, co-CEO of Archie Comics, reads from The Best of Archie Comics and lead kids in an interactive comic-drawing craft time on December 3, 2011 from 3-4pm! Celebrate 70 years of Archie Comics fun with The Best of Archie Comics—a massive full-color collection of over 50 favorite comic book stories hand-selected by noted Archie writers, artists, editors and historians. Also included are loads of entertaining behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the comics, their creators, and Archie’s unique impact on American pop culture. Designed for young and old alike, this is both a must-have companion for anyone who has grown up with Archie and a perfect introduction for new readers.
Nancy Silberkleit is the co-CEO of Archie Comics. Prior to running Archie Comics, Nancy was an Art teacher for the New Jersey public schools and, within the first two years at Archie, Nancy created an education division that launched Comic Book Fairs—a fundraiser and tool for raising literacy in the classroom. Her work for Comic Book Fairs addresses relevant and social issues like health and wellness, anti-bullying, and school cultural awareness.
This event is open to children of all ages. There will be a $5 fee per child for craft supplies. The event will be located in the Children’s Department on the 2nd floor. The author will be signing copies of The Best of Archie Comics after the reading.
