Press Release:
Added guest artist – Lee Weeks!
The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that the Lee Weeks will be attending our upcoming April 16th Show!
Lee Weeks made his professional comics debut in the 1980s, penciling, inking, and lettering a short story (“Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk”) in Tales of Terror #5, a horror anthology published by Eclipse Comics. He is best known for his work for Marvel Comics on Daredevil Vol. 1 series (1990 – 1992), where he penciled the Last Rites storyline. It featured the fall of the Kingpin and is a sequel of sorts to Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s Born Again.
Other titles he is well known for include: Batman, Gambit, Spiderman, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and Captain Marvel just to name a few. He illustrated the Juggernaut storyline in Amazing Spider-man and recently has been writing and drawing a Daredevil project In sum it could be said that the list of characters Lee has not touched during his long career is shorter that those which he has influenced.
He will be available for only a limited time during the day, so be sure to arrive early and secure a spot in line to see him! Rumor has it he also knows a few good card tricks. So be sure to stop by and ask him to show you one!

Six Flags Great Comic Book Adventure is Coming in May 2011
March 7, 2011 by Brian Pate
Filed under Comic Books, Convention News, New Jersey

PRESS RELEASE:
It’s official!
“Six Flags Great Comic Book Adventure” is coming!
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ has asked John Paul of www.njcomicbookshows.com (aka Pug Productions) to run a comicon for them on Sunday, May 29th. That is the full opening weekend for the park this season (limited hours of operation begin in April) … and also the opening of their Green Lantern rollercoaster.
Since it would be the first comicon at the park, they are starting this year with a one day show. It will have extended hours though… from 10:30-8:00.
There will be 100 dealer tables and dozens of creators.
While they are soliciting dealers and creators, the amount of space is finite, so if anyone is interested please send Mr. Paul an e-mail at pugprdctns@aol.com
Even though they just finalized a few days ago, they already have commitments from the following dealers (and more) for nearly fifty tables: Gary Platt, Wild Pig Comics, New World Manga, Comic Crusaders, Bob Fox, Mike Williams, Bazooka Jeff, Chris Wertz, Graffiti Comix, Adam the Comic Pimp and Rob Campitiello. Cost is $100 per 6′ table, with two park passes included for each table purchased.
Artists so far will include Lee Weeks and Fred Hembeck. They expect to wind up with a large well-rounded roster of both major and local talent.
There will be a costume contest with prizes and also a charity auction for the “Childrens Miracle Network”. More events will be added prior to the show.
Convention admission will be included with park admission for the day. There will be a link up soon to prepurchase park tickets for the day at $30 (half off the regular price of $60). Remember, this gives you full access to the park as well at a bargain price.
If any of you remember the very successful Montclair Art Museum show run by Mr. Paul a few years ago, this should blow that away!
Additional updates will be provided as more info becomes available.
