JOE BENITEZ will be signing LADY MECHANIKA comics at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Friday November 6th from 6 – 7pm.
The tabloids dubbed her “Lady Mechanika“, the sole survivor of a mad scientist’s horrific experiments that left her with mechanical limbs. Having no memory of her captivity or her former life, Mechanika eventually built a new life for herself as a private detective, using her unique abilities to solve cases the police couldn’t or wouldn’t handle. But she never stopped searching for the answers to her own past.
Set in turn of the century England, a time when magic and superstition clashed with new scientific discoveries and inventions, Lady Mechanika is about a young woman’s search for her own identity as she solves other mysteries involving science and the supernatural.
Joe Benitez is an American comic book artist who has worked on such titles as Titans (DC Comics), Magdalena (Image Comics), and Soulfire (Aspen Comics). He is also the creator of the modern fantasy Wraithborn and the steampunk series Lady Mechanika.

Joe Benitez, creator of Lady Mechanika and head of Benitez Productions, and cosplayer Tia Maria appear at Sky High Comics on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 6:00 PM!
Benitez started working in comic at Image Comics in the early 1990s, where he quickly became a superstar artist. Having worked on titles like Gen13, Weapon Zero, and The Darkness his creator owned works are some of this best. Wraithborn is a great series we highly recommend picking up from him, but you all likely know him from the unbelievably successful steam punk comic series, Lady Mechanika! Well he has worked for major publishes from Top Cow to DC, Aspen to Zenescope, he’s reached a whole new level now with his own publishing company, Benitez Productions!
Tia is a brilliant and beautiful model that also has become the face of Lady Mechanika. She is a stunning professional model, cosplayer, and alt-model that has worked for sites like Steamgirls and been a guest at countless shows. You’ve likely seen her photos online before, but if not check out her great fan page and give it a like by clicking the link…
