CC4CC Comic Creators for Captain Cure

We know who Captain Cure is.

Captain Cure is Ty Wakefield: a proud resident of Lewiston, Idaho, father of three, husband to one, and a friend to all.  In 2007 Ty was diagnosed with osteo-sarcoma (bone cancer).  While dealing with chemotherapy and bone replacement surgeries, Captain Cure was born!  Ty formed Alternate Reality Comics and began producing and distributing Captain Cure comics throughout the Pacific Northwest with all of the proceeds going to children dealing with similar afflictions.  The comic served an additional purpose in that it made the stigma of cancer an easy to understand concept for younger readers.

Ty’s road has been a tough one over the last couple of years.  He continues to promote his comics and raise money for charity in between extensive chemical and radiation treatments.  While the prognosis is not positive he continues to keep a smile for everyone.  While his charitable efforts have been helping others, his family now has sizeable expenses associated with his treatments which could be a heavy burden on his family.  We at Comic Evolution and CC4CC want to help reduce the burden to the family and ensure an enduring legacy for Ty and his family.

On August 15th we will be hosting an entourage of comic industry leaders for a night to be remembered.  Starting at Noon we will have a book signing/Q&A with the artists in attendance.  To add to that we will have live music, a huge raffle, and art exclusive to the show on display for sale.   The real treat begins at 6pm, when we will have a price per head “Night with the Stars” at a yet to be determined location., where fans of the industry can just hang out with their avorite artists and writers.

If you would like to participate in the event, either by attending or donating, please contact us at the number below.  Any and all contributions will go towards the Wakefield family in the form of a trust.  This way we can continue to assist the family with future events.
