Author George R.R. Martin appears at a fundraiser for ABC Libraries with a lecture and book signing at the historic KiMo Theatre on September 3rd
On September 3rd, legendary sci-fi and fantasy author, George R. R. Martin will draw crowds for a book talk and signing at the historic KiMo Theatre
General admission to the book talk and signing at 7:30 p.m. is $20. VIP admission, beginning at 6:30 p.m., includes a reception, book signing, light refreshments and reserved seating at a cost of $120. Tickets can be purchased at www.KimoTickets.com.
Declared by Time Magazine as “One of the Most Influential People of 2011,” George R. R. Martin is an author and screenwriter of science fiction, fantasy and horror. His bestselling novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, has been made into the Emmy® Award-nominated series, Game of Thrones. Additionally, Martin has won over 30 awards for his works in print and on the screen.
“Mr. Martin has been very generous to the libraries, and most of the price of the ticket will be going to fund new library programs. So, not only will the audience get to hear a great author, they’ll also be funding more events like this in Albuquerque” says Katherine Yuhas, Board Director of The Friends for the Public Library.
As a fundraiser for The Friends of the Public Library, proceeds from this special event benefit Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries, enabling the continuation of outstanding free library services and programs for the Albuquerque community.
ABC Libraries is part of the Cultural Services Department, City of Albuquerque, Richard J. Berry, Mayor.
