John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman sign at Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Thursday September 20th, from 6:00 – 7:00pm.
Press Release:

Forbidden Planet are delighted to announce a signing by John and Carole E Barrowman for TORCHWOOD: EXODUS CODE (BBC Books) at our London Megastore on Thursday September 20th, from 6 – 7pm.
It starts with a series of unexplained events. Earth tremors across the globe. Women being driven insane by their heightened and scrambled senses. And the world is starting to notice – the Twitter trend is #realfemmefatales. Governments and scientists are bewildered and silent. The world needs Torchwood, but there’s not much of Torchwood left.
Captain Jack has tracked the problem to its source: a village in Peru, where he’s uncovered evidence of alien involvement. In Cardiff, Gwen Cooper has discovered something alien and somehow connected to Jack. If the world is to be restored, she has to warn him – but she’s quickly becoming a victim of the madness too…
Carole is Professor of English and Director of Creative Studies in Writing at Alverno College in Milwaukee. She writes a monthly crime fiction column and regular reviews and features for newspapers. She contributed a chapter to the Hugo award-winning non-fiction anthology Chicks Dig Time Lords. John became Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who in May 2005 and appeared in eleven episodes of the hit show, before taking the lead role in Torchwood. He’s had starring roles on stage and television, including his popular BBC entertainment show Tonight’s The Night.
PLEASE NOTE: pre-orders on this title may be limited. At the event itself, John and Carole will ONLY be signing copies of their books.

Press Release:
JOHN BARROWMAN TO APPEAR AT C2E2
Captain Jack Harkness From Doctor Who And Torchwood Coming To Chicago
Norwalk, CT, March 20, 2012: The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) has announced actor John Barrowman — best known as Captain Jack Harkness in the BBC’s Torchwood and Doctor Who – will be appearing at this year’s event as a Spotlight Guest. C2E2, from the creators of New York Comic Con, is April 13-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. The event is a popular culture convention spanning the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga, and games, and John Barrowman is the latest addition to the show’s roster of guests. Previously announced comic talent appearing at C2E2 include Adam Hughes, Joe Kubert, Marc Silvestri, Rick Remender, and Scott Snyder. Previously announced entertainment names include Anthony Daniels, Chad Michael Murray, Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, Chris Hardwick, and Josh Gates.
Barrowman’s body of work spans both the UK and US, appearing on British series including Hustle, Hotel Babylon, and his entertainment show,Tonight’s The Night, and in the US on programs ranging from Desperate Housewives to Central Park West. He is most known — and has become a pop culture icon — for his portrayal of Captain Jack Harkness. First appearing in 2005 in Doctor Who, Harkness was a rogue anti-hero both equal and opposite Who‘s altruistic Doctor. Captain Jack proved extremely popular with fans and critics alike, leading to further adventures with The Doctor in subsequent years and the starring role in Doctor Who‘s adult-oriented spin-off, Torchwood. Torchwood‘s fourth season, Miracle Day, was a UK and US co-production, airing this past summer on Starz in the USA.
“We’re very excited to welcome John Barrowman this year to C2E2,” Show Organizer Lance Fensterman said. “Doctor Who has grown into a global phenomenon, and John Barrowman is an actor with a following on both sides of the Atlantic. There’s tremendous excitement from the fanboys and fangirls within C2E2′s own office, and we know our audience in Chicago will be overjoyed to meet him.”
“I’m so excited about C2E2 because it involves two of my favorite things — my US fans and the city of Chicago. We’re going to have a great time!” Barrowman said. ”C2E2 will be a special kind of homecoming for me. I’m thrilled to be back in one of my favorite cities in the world, and I’m so happy at long last to be able to spend some time with my US fans.”
John Barrowman will be appearing at C2E2 on Saturday and Sunday. He’ll be signing autographs and be participating in a panel discussion. Imagine a day when nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging. They get hurt and sick but they never die. This is the extraordinary premise of the highly-anticipated STARZ original drama series, “Torchwood: Miracle Day,” produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for STARZ, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Worldwide. The new series, premiering on STARZ on July 8 at 10pm ET/PT, features Torchwood alumni John Barrowman, Eve Myles, and Kai Owen and new headliners, Mekhi Phifer, Alexa Havins and Bill Pullman. Special guest starring actors in the cult sensation include: Arlene Tur (“Crash,” Eat Pray Love) and Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under,” The Other Woman). The 10-episode, hour-long series will also feature an impressive list of guest stars: Wayne Knight (“Seinfeld,” Jurassic Park), C. Thomas Howell (“Southland,” The Outsiders), Ernie Hudson (“OZ,” Ghostbusters), Nana Visitor (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), John DeLancie (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Mare Winningham (Mildred Pierce, George Wallace) and Frances Fisher (Titanic, The Lincoln Lawyer). The show’s original creator, writer/producer Russell T Davies, serves as executive producer along with BBC Worldwide Productions’ SVP Julie Gardner, with Davies also serving as show-runner. “Torchwood: Miracle Day” is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for Starz, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Worldwide.
About “Spartacus: Vengeance” (Premiering 2012)
From the time “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” debuted on Starz in January 2010, it established itself as an epic production with rich storytelling and visuals unlike anything seen previously on any TV show. Also starring John Hannah as Batiatus, Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as Doctore, Manu Bennett as Crixus and Viva Bianca as Ilythia, “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” was one of the most talked-about and best-loved TV shows of 2010. Season two of the series finds Spartacus and his fellow gladiators now out of Capua and engaged in the massive slave rebellion against Roman society that has echoed through time. “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” the six-part prequel that told the story of the House of Batiatus gladiator school, and the intricate personal, sexual and political maneuverings in Capua five years before “Blood and Sand” was set, debuted in January 2011.
In season two of the popular series, Liam McIntyre takes over the role of the Thracian warrior sold into slavery in the Roman Republic city of Capua – where he rises to become the champion of the city – before leading the slave revolt that ended the first season. The part was played in the first season by acclaimed Andy Whitfield, who was forced to leave the show due to health issues. “Spartacus: Vengeance” recently began production in New Zealand.
