New festival connects fans and creators in birthplace of comics on June 14-15 – Kyle Higgins, Ryan Stegman, Tim Seeley and others announced in initial lineup

New York– February 24, 2014 – Today ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events including New York Comic Con, is expanding its event offerings and getting back to its roots with the creation of Special Edition: NYC. Held in the birthplace of comics, New York City, the inaugural event is scheduled to take place on June 14-15 at Javits Center North.

This new comic book festival will provide fans the opportunity to connect with artists, socialize with fellow collectors in a unique setting and search for those always hard to find back issues. The event is a pure celebration of comic book culture created specifically for die-hard comic book fans, creators and publishers.

From rising stars to living legends, Special Edition: NYC is the place where fans will be able to meet their comic book heroes and get exclusive access to Special Guests from the pages of mainstream, alternative, indie, international and web comics. Artists and creators will also have the opportunity to connect with their fans. Boston Comic Con is excited to welcome Kristin Bauer of the hit HBO TV series True Blood to the rescheduled show on August 3-4, 2013 at the Seaport World Trade Center! Kristin, a main cast member of the show, plays the part of the vampire Pam. Kristin is also known for her role as Maleficent in the hit ABC TV series Once Upon a Time. She will be on hand both days of the convention to sign autographs and meet her fans! Details on signing schedule, prices, etc to be announced.

Tampa Bay Comic Con Starts 2013 by Announcing a “Walking Dead” Star!

January 2nd, 2013 – The Tampa Bay Comic Con has confirmed actress Lauren Cohan as a headlining guest for the April 6-7, 2013 convention. Lauren Cohan is famed for her role as Maggie Greene in AMC’s massively popular series, The Walking Dead and as Bela Talbot in CW’s series Supernatural. Tampa Bay Comic Con attendees will be able to meet and greet Lauren Cohan as well as get autographs and photo-ops at the convention.

In addition, the Tampa Bay Comic Con’s guest list is set to include a talented array of professional comic book creators. Among them are: Jenny Frison (Hack & Slash artist), Michael Golden (Punisher, Transfomers artist), Bob Layton (Iron Man artist), Luke McDonnell (Iron Man artist), Mark Texeira (Ghost Rider, Punisher artist) and Renee Witterstaetter (writer, editor).

The Tampa Bay Comic Con will feature over 100 exhibitor/vendor tables where convention attendees can browse through a large selection of inventory including: comic books, cards, toys, t-shirts, magazines, artwork, Star Wars merchandise, jewelry and much more. All attendees are also welcome to attend all convention panels (which will include Lauren Cohan’s panel) as well as participate in the “Costume Contest” and the “Artist Throwdown”.

The Tampa Bay Comic Con will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, 2013 at the Doubletree Hotel in Tampa, FL from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday.
