Artist Jamal Igle appears for a Dare2Draw lecture and Q & A at the Society of Illustrators on Wednesday, March 21, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm! Jamal will share his thoughts about his successful Kickstarter campaign and all the work involved in making it happen.  Special guest Steven Zelin will discuss Kickstarter through the eyes of a CPA. He’ll also share some tips about artists filing taxes, a very popular topic this time of year!

Art Auction to Benefit Peter David

Last month writer Peter David suffered a debilitating stroke while vactioning with his family. His friend and Fallen Angel artist J.K. Woodward has started up a benefit art auction featuring characters that David has created or worked on such as the Hulk, X-Factor, Supergirl, Young Justice, and more. Artists including Pablo Raimondi, Jamal Igle, Joe Corroney, Valentine De Landro, Steve Bryant, Emanuela Lupacchino, Paul Davidson, and more have contributed pieces already. The auction is set to run mid-February. If you would like to contribute art or make a direct donation, more information can be found at the link.

Signing at our Manhattan Location on October 10 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm are a half dozen of the coolest creators in comics right now, including the the team behind DC’s Nightwing, writer Kyle Higgins, artist Eddy Barrows, and colorist Rod Reis; PLUS special guests Amy Reeder (Batwoman, the new Halloween Eve from Image), Trevor McCarthy (Batman: Gates of Gotham), and Brandon Montclare (Halloween Eve).

Then at 7:00pm, Jim Hanley’s Universe in New York City is proud to present the Pop Music In Comics Panel Discussion and Signing at the JHU Underground in Manhattan, Wednesday, October 10!
