All creators signing in our booth offer their autographs for FREE. FREE prints, comics, or posters are provided for most of our signings (while supplies last). You may purchase or bring items to be signed; however, we may restrict the type or number of items to be signed as necessary.

Some signings require a wristband for entry, as noted on the schedule. Drawings for wristbands for these events will begin at show opening the day before and day of each signing. Come to the Dark Horse booth early for the best chance to join these events.

Lines may also be closed for some signings due to crowding or time restrictions.

CA – Will Eisner Centennial Celebration

Join Collector’s Paradise Pasadena and the Pasadena Public Library on Saturday March 11th at 2:00 PM to celebrate the legendary graphic artist, Will Eisner (1917-2005), and the 100th anniversary of his birth. Eisner was a pioneer in the creation of comics during the “Golden Age” of the 1930s and ‘40s, achieving fame with his noir crime-fighting superhero, The Spirit. At one time or another, many comics greats worked with Eisner including Jules Feiffer, Wally Wood, Jack Kirby, Al Jaffee, and Mike Ploog.

Eisner devoted himself to producing educational and instructional sequential art, a term he coined. In 1978, Eisner once again reinvented himself – and the medium – with his graphic novel, A Contract with God. Will Eisner’s graphic novels and textbooks are still in print in 15 worldwide languages. The prestigious Will Eisner Awards, the “Oscars of the Comics Industry,” are presented at San Diego
Comic-Con, the world’s largest comics convention. 

Pasadena Public Library’s Eisner celebration will feature a panel discussion moderated by Julie Benson of the Nerdist Comics Panel and comics artists and authors; Ben Acker, Ben Blacker, Meg Hutchison, Collin KellyJackson Lanzing, Andrew Miller, Richard Starkings, and James Tynion IV. Books will be for sale and signing following the event. All weekend long at the booth, fans can find the writing duo of Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly (Joyride, Hacktivist), current Lumberjanes co-writer Kat Leyh, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Warlords of Appalachia, Last Sons of America), and artist Laura Howell (Regular Show), who will also be available to draw customized sketches on blank comic covers.

Mouse Guard creator David Petersen, Michael Dialynas (The Woods), Frank Cho (Skybourne), Dennis Hopeless (WWE), Mike Perkins (Rowans Ruin), James Asmus (Kong of Skull Island), and Greg Pak (Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York) will all stop by the BOOM! booth to meet fans.

From overseas, Eisner Award winner Asaf Hanuka will be on hand to sign copies of his collection of autobiographical comic strips, The Realist; acclaimed noir writer Matz will appear to support his recent Archaia graphic novel, The Black Dahlia; Simon Spurrier comes from the UK to promote Weavers and The Spire; and Alex Paknadel appears at the BOOM! booth for the first time to sign copies of Turncoat and Arcadia.

Justin Jordan and Raúl Treviño will appear together for their current BOOM! comic series, Sombra; the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink team of current writer Tini Howard, artist Daniel Di Nicuolo, and colorist Sarah Stern will make two appearances. For the main Power Rangers series, colorist Matt Herms will be on hand; Rod Reis and Jorge Corona, who both contributed stories to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Annual, will also be available to sign copies of the New York Comic Con exclusive.

Jim Campbell and Cara McGee, who work on the current KaBOOM! ongoing series based on Cartoon Network’s Over the Garden Wall, are coming to greet fans, as well as Jonesy artist Caitlin Rose Boyle, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth Tales writer/artist Cory Godbey, Rust creator Royden Lepp, and Natacha Bustos, who will join Kat Leyh to sign copies of the Lumberjanes #29 New York Comic Con exclusive.

Award-winning comic book publisher BOOM! Studios is pleased to announce it will exhibit at Stan Lee’s Comikaze, which will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, during the weekend of October 31stNovember 2nd. BOOM! is thrilled to host a number of special guests during the show including actors Peter Facinelli, David Henrie, and James Hong. The show marks the publisher’s eighteenth and final convention appearance in 2014 spreading the message of “We Are BOOM!” to the fans.

BOOM! can be found at booth number 906 and will host the following creators for signing opportunities all weekend:

  • Caleb Monroe (Cloaks, Planet of the Apes, Peanuts)

  • Collin Kelly (Hacktivist)

The following creators will be available for sketches all weekend. For $30, fans can order custom sketches drawn on blank covers of Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors, and other comics.

  • Actor and creator David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place, How I Met Your Mother) will be signing for Cloaks along with series writer Caleb Monroe from 12:00-1:00 pm. Note: This signing will be ticketed.

  • Actor and creator Peter Facinelli (Nurse Jackie, Twilight) will be signing for Protocol: Orphans along with series writer Michael Alan Nelson from 2:00-3:00 pm. Note: This signing will be ticketed.

  • Pete Browngardt, creator of the Cartoon Network show Uncle Grandpa, will be signing with Uncle Grandpa Stan Lee’s Comikaze exclusive variant cover artist Yehudi Mercado from 4:00-5:00 pm.

BOOM! will host the following signing on Sunday:

  • John Omohundro, voice actor for Danny from Bravest Warriors, will be signing from 1:00-2:00 pm.

Free tickets for Saturday’s ticketed signings will be available for distribution at the BOOM! booth that morning.

BOOM! will have a Stan Lee’s Comikaze exclusive variant for Uncle Grandpa #1 by Yehudi Mercado available for purchase through the convention for $10.00, while supplies last.
