OR – Multiple Warheads: Ghost Throne Launch Party

Press Release:

Acclaimed cartoonist Brandon Graham (Island, Prophet, King City) will release MULTIPLE WARHEADS: GHOST THRONE, a one-shot to complete the series, this February from Image Comics. We welcome him to Floating World on Thursday, March 1st, from 6-9pm for a book signing and art exhibit to celebrate this landmark comic.

MULTIPLE WARHEADS: GHOST THRONE is the culmination of the MULTIPLE WARHEADS chapters serialized in ISLAND, in which our heroes finally make good on their wizard heist plans.

“I started drawing these characters and the world they live in 2001, letting the story go wherever felt like the most fun,” said Graham. “It’s been interesting to try to pull the threads of it into an ending, getting this meandering vacation of a comic to a fantasy heist culmination—while still letting myself get sidetracked by fun new ideas that I stumble into along the way.”

2017 Ringo Awards Final Ballot Announced

Press Release:

The 2017 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards are to be presented on the evening of Saturday, September 23, 2017 as part of the fan- and pro-favorite convention, the Baltimore Comic-Con. The Ringo Awards has completed the 2017 nomination process, which was inclusive of fans and comic book professionals alike, and both communities showed strong support, both in talking about us on their websites, blogs, and social media feeds, and by submitting their nominations.

With the nomination deadline looming, we continued to see significant volume each day, and determined we needed to extend our original voting deadline to accommodate as many interested participants as we reasonably could without adversely impacting our ability to release and provide sufficient voting time for the final ballot. The augmentation in participation during the nomination extension ended up being significant.

Voting on the 2017 Final Ballot is restricted to comic book industry creative community — anyone involved in and credited with creating comics professionally. We now present the inaugural Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards Final Ballot.

The sky’s the limit with comics, as Joe Harris (SNOWFALL), Keenan Marshall Keller (THE HUMANS), Brian Schirmer (BLACK JACK KETCHUM), Jimmie Robinson (POWER LINES), and Brian Haberlin (FASTER THAN LIGHT) know very well. New creativity has been crucial to the success of comics and drives the most compelling stories out there. Founded by Marc Silvestri in 1992, Top Cow Productions soon made its name as the publisher of hit comics like Witchblade, The Darkness, and Cyberforce. The series stood the test of time, spawning a whole multimedia empire. Ed Brubaker (THE FADE OUT), Kurtis Wiebe (RAT QUEENS), Tom Neely (THE HUMANS), Greg Hinkle (AIRBOY), and Malachi Ward (ISLAND) all bring one important thing to their work: a very, very high level of craft.
