It is the return of the Philadelphia Comic-Con on Sunday August 9th.  This comic book convention is held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center located at 76 Industrial Highway (Route 291) in Essington, PA 19029.  The hotel is conveniently located off of exit 9A from I-95. It is also close to I-76, I-476 and most bridges from New Jersey.  Show hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is only $3 per person.  Students of any age (including college) are admitted free with a current id.   Parking is also free on premises.  For those of you that do not drive Septa Bus Route 37 stops directly in front of the hotel.

It is quite a site to behold with 60+ tables at the show in the 4,500 square foot ballroom of the hotel.  Dealers from 5 states setup there selling, buying and even trading with collectors. Thousands and thousands of comic books from the 1940’s to present day will be for sale at the show.  Also available will be collecting supplies, graphic novels, action figures, statues, non-sportcards, dvd’s and original artwork.  The show has become a fan favorite for years with people travelling up to 3 hours one way just to shop at the show.

Special guest artists this show are Greg Larocque (“The Flash”), Paris Cullins (“Blue Devil” “WWE Superstarz”) and Chris Campana (“Hyperkind” “Negative Burn”).

Tampa Bay Comic Con Announces Star-Studded Cast

June 14th, 2013
 – The Tampa Bay Comic Con will take place on August 23-25, 2013 at the Tampa Convention Center! This marks the inaugural Tampa Bay Comic Con to be held at Tampa Convention Center.

The Tampa Bay Comic Con has announced its guest list and it includes primary cast members from Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Hunger Games.

Maisie Williams who portrays Arya Stark, the star and protagonist of the HBO series, Game of Thrones. The Tampa Bay Comic Con will be the first convention in the western hemisphere to feature Maisie Williams.
Rory McCann who portrays Sandor “The Hound” Clegane in the HBO series, Game of Thrones. The Tampa Bay Comic Con will be the first convention in the western hemisphere to feature Rory McCann.
Lauren Cohan who portrays Maggie Greenie in AMC’s hit series, The Walking Dead.
Willow Shields who portrays Primrose Everdeen (sister of Katniss played by Jennifer Lawrence) in the Hunger Games and upcoming sequel, Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

In addition, the following comic artist professionals will be in attendance:

All three convention days will feature full schedules of programming such as cosplay, contests and panels.

Special guests this show are Zenescope Comics, Greg Larocque and Bill McKay.  Greg Is best known for his work on “The Flash” by DC Comics.  Zenescope is a locally based publisher based out of Fort Washington who have achieved international success with their hit comic series “Grimm Fairy Tales” which has also spawned an entire line of related collectibles.  Bill McKay is an Artist based out of the Washington, DC area who is making the trip up here just for the show.  Bill has done work on Lady Death and Grimm Fairy Tales trading cards.

Special guest artist this show is the very prolific comic book artist Greg Larocque. Perhaps best known for his stint on “Flash” by DC Comics in the 1990’s he is back working on a Flash comic book. “Retroactive Flash” hit the comic book stores in August. Stop by your local comic shop to pick up a copy as Greg will be signing them for free. Greg will also be signing any item he has worked on for free. There is a charge for sketches and original artwork. We are also proud to announce that Greg has chosen this show for his only area appearance this year.
