About this Author
Brad Meltzer is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Inner Circle as well as the bestsellers The Book of Fate, The Tenth Justice, Dead Even, The First Counsel, The Millionaires, The Zero Game, and The Book of Lies.

He is also one of the co-creators of the TV Show, “Jack & Bobby” and is the Eisner Award-winning author of the critically acclaimed comic book, Justice League of America.

His first non-fiction book, Heroes for My Son, is a collection of heroes from Jim Henson to Rosa Parks that he’d been working on since the day his son was born. he is the host of “Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on the History Channel. And his newest thriller, The Fifth Assassin, will be released on January 15, 2013.

Raised in Brooklyn and Miami, Brad is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Columbia Law School. The Tenth Justice was his first published work and became an instant New York Times bestseller. Dead Even followed a year later and also hit the New York Times bestseller list, as have all six of his novels. The First Counsel came next, which is about a White House lawyer dating the President’s daughter; then The Millionaires, which is about two brothers who steal money and go on the run. The Zero Game is about two Congressional staffers who are literally gambling on Congress. The Book of Fate is about a young Presidential aide, a crazed assassin, and the 200-year-old code created by Thomas Jefferson that times them together. For authenticity, The Book of Fate was researched with the help of two former Presidents, Clinton and Bush. His last book, The Book of Lies, is about the missing murder weapon that Cain used to kill Abel, as well as the unsolved murder of Superman creator Jerry Siegel’s father. Brad is
one of the only people to interview Jerry Siegel’s family about the murder and, with his charitable site, OrdinaryPeopleChangeTheWorld.com, has been the driving force behind the movement to repair the house where Superman was created.

His books have spent over ten months on the bestseller lists, and have been translated into over 25 languages, from Hebrew to Bulgarian. In The Tenth Justice, the opening lines are: “Ben Addison was sweating. Like a pig.” In the Hebrew translation, it became: “Ben Addison was sweating. Like a horse.” We’re not sure if it’s a Kosher thing or what!

Brad has played himself as an extra in Woody Allen’s “Celebrity,” co-wrote the swearing-in oath for AmeriCorps, the national service program, and earned credit from Columbia Law School for writing his first book, which became The Tenth Justice. Before all of that, he got 24 rejection letters for his true first novel, which still sits on his shelf, published by Kinko’s.

Brad currently lives in Florida with his wife, who’s also an attorney.

HeroesCon is exactly one month away and guests are still being announced. This isn’t even the last guest list update before the show! We’re bursting at the seams! Get your tickets today! See the full guest list on the website!

We are happy to welcome Neal Adams back to HeroesCon this June 22-24! Thanks to everyone who attended last year and met Neal on his first visit to HeroesCon; you must have made a great impression! Neal is a legend in the comic book industry as much for his artwork as he is for crusading for the rights of fellow creators and striking out on his own when such a thing was unheard of. Neal’s career spans decades, from classic runs on characters like X-Men, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and Batman to his current Batman: Odyssey. Be on the lookout for The First X-Men coming soon from Neal and writer (and fellow HeroesCon 2012 guest) Christos Gage! One of Jared Moraitis’ BeastWreck Shirts & Stuff was recently featured on an episode of NBC’s Community. Michel Fiffe is the creator of the comic series, Zegas, which he began publishing in 2011 as Copra Press. On top of writing and drawing Zegas, Fiffe has immersed himself in various comics projects such as editing the indie anthology Twisted Savage Dragon Funnies and conducting in-depth creator interviews for several institutions including The Comics Journal.

When he’s not working in animation, Dan Duncan is making comics. You’ve seen his art on the latest incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and on the beautifully painted covers of Xenoholics. Catch this guy before he and his crew are super famous and don’t have time for you. Ah, he’d make time anyway, Dan is a super nice guy.

Artist Tom Lyle is also returning to HeroesCon next month. Tom’s illustrated numerous books like Spider-man, Robin, Punisher and Batman. He’s also an instructor at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), who he’ll be setting up with again this year.

June is also known for her work on titles like Power Pack, Supergirl and an adaptation of the novel Black Beauty with Roy. Dennis Calero has been a go-to artist for many companies over the years. In addition to work on popular properties like 28 Days Later: The Aftermath, Calero’s also illustrated books like X-men: Noir, X-factor and Cowboys & Aliens. He also worked on Teen Titans, Legion of Superheroes, JL: The New Frontier DTV, JL: Crisis on 2 Earths DTV, Men In Black and G I Joe: Renegades. Currently , he is working on the new CG TMNT cartoon at Nickelodeon Studios. His pals Dan Panosianand Tim Townsend told him HeroesCon was a great show so he decided to make his first trip to the Queen City to check it out!

Ethan Van Sciver has been a mainstay at DC for years now. He’s illustrated titles like Green Lantern, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Flash: Rebirth and most recently the new 52 title Fury of Firestorm.

CA – DCU Signing

Marv Wolfman, Rob Liefeld, Sterling Gates, and JT Krul sign on Wednesday, September 21 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

RSVP on Facebook!

Press Release:

On Wednesday September 21st, Collector’s Paradise Comics & Gallery would love to invite you to our beautiful new Pasadena store, for a signing of all signings, to commemorate release of several new exciting titles from the DC NEW 52 Relaunch and the TEEN TITANS GAMES HC. From 6pm to 8pm, we are proud to host four FANTASTIC Creators and great friends of the stores, and showcase their new books for all of you who can make it to t…he event:

ROB LIEFELD – Rob Liefeld had childhood dream to draw comic books. As a teenager, he fulfilled that dream and began working for Marvel Comics X-men titles and introducing the world to Deadpool, Cable and X-Force! In 1992 Rob, with his other artist friends, launched Image Comics with the debt of the popular Youngblood franchise. This year, Rob launched THE INFINITE with co-creator and writer Robert Kirkman, and is now returning to HAWK & DOVE with Sterling Gates as part of DC’s NEW 52 Relaunch.

STERLING GATES started at DC comics writing a couple of short Green Lantern stories, which led to a stint on Green Lantern Corps, and then a regular gig on Supergirl. With DC’s new relaunch, Gates is taking over the reigns of HAWK & DOVE.

JT KRUL – already a huge store favorite at Collector’s Paradise, JT’s meteoric rise to fame in the last couple of years has been fantastic to watch. Starting out at Aspen Comics where he took over writing of Fathom & Soulfire after Michael Turner’s untimely death, JT’s writing got noticed by DC Comics, who, after a few one shots and small assignments, gave JT his biggest break, relaunching Green Arrow and taking over Teen Titans. With DC’s relaunch, JT adds Captain Atom to his Green Arrow assignment.

We are also SUPER PROUD to host, for the first time in Pasadena, our dear friend, a Comic Book Industry LEGEND, Marv Wolfman, to commemorate release of his instant Classic Hardcover Graphic Novel – “Teen Titans: Games”, drawn by George Perez. Marv is a true legend of our industry, the writer of Crisis of Infinite Earth, co-creator or creator of a huge amount of most popular comic book characters, including : Teen Titans (with George Perez), Black Cat, Blade, Nova, Nightwing, Deathstroke, Bullseye and countless others.
