UK – Jeff Lemire & Scott Snyder Signing

jl ss

Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire appear at Gosh Comics for a signing on Wednesday, November 14th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Presented in conjunction with Thought Bubble.

Since bursting onto the comic scene in 2009 Eisner and Harvey award winning Scott Snyder has written for both Marvel and DC; working on well-loved titles including Iron Man, and The Human Torch. Scott’s current work on Batman Eternal is particularly good but it’s his creator-owned work with Vertigo (American Vampire and The Wake) comics that’s really caught our attention.

Eisner and Harvey award nominations have also made their way over to the second creator of the evening, Jeff Lemire. If the name seems familiar it shouldn’t be a surprise. He wrote that comic. You know the one? Children born with horns and snouts and hooves and stuff. Not content with creating his own immersive and believable worlds (Essex County, Sweet Tooth, Trillium) Lemire has also written for DC comics with impressive runs on Animal Man, Justice League Dark, and Green Arrow to name a few.

Both creators will be with us signing copies of their books between 5-7pm on Friday the 14th of November. There’s going to be a 3 item limit on the night so choose carefully! If you don’t already have the book you’re after don’t worry; we’ll have a selection of their work available on the day. If you’re unable to make it to the event and there’s a specific book you’d like us to have signed for you then get in touch via info@goshlondon.com and we can make those arrangements.

UK – The Art of Neil Gaiman Signing

ang

Hayley Campbell appears at Gosh! Comics for a book launch on Friday, the 11th of July, between 7pm-9pm. Drinks will be provided.

In Haley’s own words the book is “about Neil Gaiman and all the stuff he’s done. I interviewed him for a week in Scotland. I lived in his attic for a week in Wisconsin. It’s taken four years to turn into a book with pages but it’s here.” and the publishers, Ilex Press, describe the book as ” Utterly comprehensive, lavishly illustrated, The Art of Neil Gaiman is the fully authorised account of the life and work of one of the greatest storytellers of all time.” We’ve had a sneak peek, and we can confirm that the book is a must have for any Gaiman fan. Hayley’s unparalleled access has turned up some archival gems, and some great stories straight from the man himself.

UK – Nemo: Roses Of Berlin Signing

amko

Writer Alan Moore and artist Kevin O’Neill appear at Gosh! Comics to close out their British Comics Month of signings on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm! The latest comic is Nemo: Roses Of Berlin, out from Knockabout. ROB is a continuation of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series, following last year’s Nemo: Heart of Ice tale, which focuses on the adventures of science-fiction brigand Janni Nemo. This time Janni has to travel to a Berlin occupied by the dictator Adenoid Hynkel to save her loved ones, who have been taken hostage by a mysterious but familiar enemy. Heavily influenced by Expressionist German Cinema of the Weimar Republic, this Nemo is a thrilling ride through shadows, totalitarian nightmares, and mechanical monsters.

Due to the sheer volume of demand at this events, Alan and Kevin will only be able to sign four items per person, and only books in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series – that way, everyone has a chance to have a chat as well as getting their LOEG books signed! Look out for a special release on the day, too.

The signing takes place on Saturday, March the 29th, and will be running from 2pm to 6pm. It is advised to get there early, as the queue tends grow to huge proportions and often has to be capped! Also please note that due to the anticipated popularity of this event, we will not be able to take reservations for signed books.
